Definately.

however, it seems RPGs (good RPGs), have mostly been made for handhelds this generation.

Mostly due to how costly the budget would be from what I understand.

although that said there have been a few excellent console RPGs this generation:

- Demon's Souls

- Dark Souls

its pretty unanimously agreed that they're fantastic games.

I also really enjoyed White Knight Chronicles, and want to play the second.

Star Ocean 4 wasn't bad either.

Tales of Vesperia was great, although the PS3 version was only released in Japan.

FFXIII is either loved or hated depending on who you talk to.

Anyway, so there definately have been a handful of RPGs for PS3, but just nowhere near the volume that was released for PS2.

Personally I would really like to see a Shin Megami Tensei title released for PS3.

It still, at this stage, looks like a title that will be worth purchasing, although

I'm never one to rush out and buy a game the first week it comes out. I almost

always read reviews from video game collumnists and from other consumers.

My guess is it will likely be a good game. Maybe not a classic? Bringing

back the classic zombies and characters, and intertwining the stories

of the bad and good guys, should be interesting.

RE was a series based on human vs monster/zombie combat, and

I really hope they don't change that. Chris Redfield should be

at least a small amount of zombies or creatures. They might

as well just be throwing a female character into a COD game,

if there are no horrific characters for her to deal with.

Never heard of it, MLB. Is it a fantasy RPG?

Just taking a guess here.

@mlbpowerpro: I hope you don't mind me answering this question, Dragon Quest is indeed a fantasy RPG.

On the topic of Dragon Quest, DQ8, is simply amazing.   Its one of the PS2 RPGs that I hope gets released as either a PS2 classic, or as a PS3 HD upgraded version.

I'd also love to see Rogue Galaxy, although I don't know if it was popular enough for an HD release, maybe its still PS2 classic worthy.

Thanks for letting me know. I don't follow up on every video game released,

and was never much of an RPG'er to begin with. I tried a couple several years

ago, and just couldn't get the gist of it.

Not that I'd mind trying another one. It has been a long time since then.

@Super_Vegeta1986 - I'll have to remember to give DQ8 a try as it looks really interesting. Hopefully it will be added as a PS2 classic or an HD remake. I kind of remember Rogue Galaxy though I haven't played it yet, I'll have to check it out too. Maybe with enough votes it will be added to the PS2 classics as well.

@PSCanuck - I've never been one for RPGs either, I most interested in the Kingdom Hearts series. I'm even willing to try Demon's Souls and Dark Souls, regardless of their difficulty. RPGs are definitely a unique genre of gaming, an acquired taste so to speak.

How/where do you vote for what gets added to the PS store as a classic?

The only place I can think of to post suggestions and vote on such is PS Blog Share. http://share.blog.us.playstation.com/

Right now I don't think the community has any input concerning what gets added as classics. I would love to see a thread on the boards with a list of games that the community would vote on to be added as classics to the PS store.
