Uploading MS pics into Home (GDC 2007)

Hello,
,

,
Do you guys remember at the GDC Sony Keynote, Phil Harrison took a picture of the crowd with his Digital camera and then put the Memory Stick into the PS3?  And remember how it didn't work and he said "Let's just imagine you saw the pic".
,

,
Well, I was wondering if this actually work.  Perhaps Phil purposely messed that up because the functionality wasn't working yet?

,
Thanks

I don't know if it was working or not for sure.  but in the GDC keynote, they chalked it up to having the memory card in the wrong console.

I was wondering why they didn't just switch it to the right console.

I was wondering the same thing, but it was obviously better to keep the conference running smoothly and possible time constraints they may have had. But I'll have to speculate that it was working considering that he had pictures already on there that he used.

I'm not sure the testers can speak on whether or not it works...unless they say yes or no...I know I personally wouldn't say anything, besides you can try it out if u get into the open beta, or just wait until October.

At that point in the speech, if it was me up there.

I would probably become very embarassed and want to change subjects as soon as possible.

You can upload pictures into your console from the memory card slot correct?

And you can use any media on your console to play or display on certain things in home correct?

Then I imagine that what he was trying to do is indeed entirely possible.

He successfully demonstrated that feature at a smaller gathering of developers later that weekend. There's video of it out there.

Haha.  Thanks for the replies.  Ya I have no doubt in my mind that it's entirely possible, but I was just speculating that maybe at that point in the GDC, it wasn't functional so maybe Phil "put it in the wrong PS3" on purpose LO...but I guess not.

Other than that though, I think that was one of the most impressive keynote speeches I've seen.
