I'm sure Sony will make the right decision and have an acceptable amount of advertising, you won't be flooded with ads, I assure you.

I'm expecting a billboard here and there and a trailer of something running in the background.

You don't have to look directly at the ads. If HOME is to be free they can put all the ads in their that they want and it won't bother me. As long as it doesn't purposly obstruct anything I'm doing while using HOME.

It's not like there is an ad on every door that you enter...
There will be the occasional billboard, or movie clip playing, but a lot of the ads we saw were for Playstation produts, software like GT and Killzone

The advertising that we saw in the trailer wasn't bad at all. If you don't want to look at it, then don't.

Look at it this way, I pay 60 bucks for a ps3 game and I still see ads all the time.  (FightNight round3 is the worst!!!)  I think whether you paid for Home or not, the ads would be there.  The revenue that can be made from ads is too tempting.  If Coca-Cola wanted to pay me 100 bucks a post to put a Coke logo in my forum posts, I would surely take it.  And I would have many many more posts....
