Re: To any DEVELOPER that would like to make money doing picture frames...

Makes much more sense now. Thanks.

Would still be nice if they was allowed though, even if all you could put in them was the pictures provided by home.

Re: To any DEVELOPER that would like to make money doing picture frames...

Personal spaces no longer run off the console since they went to the cloud system. But since they link to the console's photo library, I'm not sure that there ever was an issue with members seeing unauthorized content. Anyone can be invited to someone's personal space and see some porn pic if they happen to have one. But if you take a pic of a frame, it comes out blank. I'm pretty sure that the reason clubs can't have frames is because of the memory allocation required to have 32 connections in the club, whereas personal spaces have either 12 or 15 (I have seen both numbers thrown around, I'm not sure which is true)

I think one thing you might discover about sales of picture frames is that alot of people just buy a blank frame and fill it with something from the internet. And that can lower how many will buy these items. BUT....

HOWEVER, Clubhouses don't allow ANY pictures. There are no pictures in clubs. We don't have the ability to add photos to a clubhouse. And there are many places we would like to add a pretty picture but Home won't allow it in that spot.

Here's an item that will sell. If you make a picture as an ornament, we could put it anywhere. Even clubhouses. Just make an invisible base to keep the picture a few feet above the floor. Make the ornament so we can shove it against a wall. That way it can float against any wall!

You might be able to use famous pictures that are in the public domain like the Mona Lisa. Or maybe a picture that is fashiony. Alot of friends of mine like to have "fashion shows" in Home. By necesity these have to be in clubs because apartments have a 12 person limit. And my friends would love some good paintings on the wall.

I'm sure Sony has some restrictions on what they will accept. But I'm sure there's something you can make that will sell well.

If you check this video out and fast forward to around the 7:32 mark you can see originally, the idea was to be able to place picture frames wherever you wanted essentially. Alot of things in this video were possibly mock ups as they differ quite radically from what we ended up with obviously.

Hi guys, I guess I misscomunicated. Sorry about the confusion. But I was talking about premade pictures in picture frames. I don't think Home supports an ornament or other object excepting a image from our HDDs.

So I was hoping for some premade pictures to put up on the wall in clubhouses and areas that don't have a frame spot. pictures like Eviltrees stuff. Or the witchblade art. But in a frame floating on an invisible base. :smileyhappy:

Those would work. They would just simply need to code the space to allow them I would suspect. They are basically furniture items but only wall hangings.

A picture frame, eh? Sure would be interesting if a certain developer was working on an item like that and planned on releasing it some time this year.

Sure would be interesting, indeed. :smileywink:
