Re: The Penthouse Tour: Presented by superlatives

Oct 7, 2012

Folks:

A few comments and observations after two days of tours:

1. It's nice to see that most everyone who's taken the tour likes the space! And CMC: I agree with your ideas - and sent them to Digital Leisure long before this reply. I'll let DL reply on Tuesday as the turkey from Canadian Thanksgiving settles into their stomach. But the one idea I STRONGLY agree with you: they need to put phony clothes in the closets. DL did a GREAT job with the walk-in behind the bed ... but to see it empty takes away from it.

2. Funny things happen on a tour -- one such tour on Saturday ended up being a club! One tourist :-) asked if his club members could visit at the same time ... no prob! Because it showed to them (and to ME) what a nice party space the Penthouse will be.

3. While I "expected" it, I still had to deal with the following: many visitors voiced "pessimism" at earning the million for the space.

FYI that's one of the reasons Digital Leisure asked me to give tours -- to show the space AND to tell people that earning 1 million is NOT hard! As I've already done in this thread, I tell people the performance of Mermaid-KT, who in three weeks went from 100,000 in earnings to 12 million. If Mermaid had played for the whole six months of Season 1, HER photo would be on the Casino wall; not mine.

On Friday, Mermaid did me (and I KNOW some of you) the service of hanging around the PH ... and GIVING CLASSES on how to make the 1 million! (Thanks Merm!) And today, people DURING their tour hung around while searching these forums for the thread that contains Mermaid's tip.

SO ... for all of you - here it is! :-) http://community.us.playstation.com/t5/PlayStation-Home/A-Sneek-Peek-at-the-Brand-New-Penthouse-Suit...

4. This is for Joanna_Dark_: Joanna you KNOW I loved your video without my having to tell you ... but FYI MANY people on the tour told me they liked your video! Nice job ... though I've never been surprised by people liking your work.

5. ONE visitor commented how "dark" the Penthouse is.

THAT comment surprised me -- because in my experience with Home personal spaces. MOST of them are really dark; certainly MUCH darker than the Penthouse.

Having said that -- to make ALL Penthouse owners happy, it'd be great if there was SOME way to let a user control the amount and degree of lighting IN the PH. I like MY spaces really bright - but I could also understand a user wanting to "darken" the PH.

AND FINALLY ...

6. An FYI -- Digital Leisure IS aware of people who have hacked the Penthouse ... and will deal with those users. DL DELAYED issuing the leaderboard jackets so they could make sure they couldn't be hacked. Digital Leisure CARES about the "value" of game rewards. They even warned one user who tried to TRADE one of his voucher codes for a leaderboard jacket. What more users who hack the Penthouse.

BOTTOM LINE: DL is making sure (and WILL CONTINUE to make sure) that the special value of their player rewards STAY that way.

OK enough gossiping and prosletyzing ... back to the tour circuit! :-)

Thank you for the sweet comments Super.

And thank you for the effort in giving the tours. I've done tours and I know how much work they can be. Some users can be very demanding and it simply takes a lot of time. Both you and Mermaid are great examples of involved Home users who care and who are willing to help the community.

As I've said before this is a special apartment. I hope Digital Leisure pays attention to some of the suggestions especially as it relates to the balcony and the high wall blocking that amazing view. That was the first thing that simply had me say "WOW' when i toured your apartment.

Sure the Casino is pay to play but with Digital Leisure we have a developer who is intent on communicating with the community in trying to listen and adjust what they do based on user input. We both know how that was with EasDRob back in the days of EA. We had a wonderful poker community that was brought together interacting with the developer of the space.

Digital Leisure has more than surpassed that level of involvement in my view. I'm sure we will continue to see them react and develop content as we move ahead. Drop and run spaces where a developer releases content never to be heard from again won't work over the long term. Digital Leisure is smart listening to the input of people like you and Mermaid.

I had fun making the video. I had fun taking pictures. Home is fun if you interact and are involved. :smileyhappy:

Whatever Digital Leisure decides to put in that closet, I hope it's not skeletons! :smileyvery-happy:

I thought it a tad dark myself.

Lighting control would be cool.

Superlatives, Appreciate your tour of the DL Penthouse. You were a gracious host, answering questions and reviewing how to earn the $1,000,000 needed to win the space. While taking the tour, Digitman invited my brother and me to take a peak. Nice start for my brother, with his Home experience.

Think what people meant about being a little dark, it made it hard to see some of the furniture. Either my avator was drunk or just clumsy, but had a little trouble navigating. Your decoration was great, just couldn't see some of the coffee tables from certain angles. :smileytongue:

Again thank you for your time in showing us the new DL Penthouse. Congratulations on being our Regions overall winner.

Mur

Folks:

It was VERY nice to meeting so many of you from here on the forums!

Just wanted to remind everyone that the tours WILL continue for the next few weeks.

And I'd also like to provide a link to everyone for the thread where Mermaid has posted many helpful tips for those who are working for 1 million: http://community.us.playstation.com/t5/PlayStation-Home/A-Sneek-Peek-at-the-Brand-New-Penthouse-Suit...

Look forward to meeting more of you!

Looks like you've been very busy there Super. You're going to need a vacation after another two weeks. Should be an all paid one to Vegas so you can play at the casino's there.
