Re: The Official HomeStation Magazine (HSM) thread

Jan 13, 2013

Hello, HSM readers!

Here is today's double feature.

First, in continuing the discussion about if Home will continue into the next console generation, team writer ted2112 takes a look at its past, in hope of gleaning insights for its future.

Next up, how about a bit of light entertainment to finish off the weekend? Pheonix offers up an art-house machinima featuring a fictional story set in an altered Dream Island locale…

We hope you enjoy.

Hello, HSM readers!

We all hope you had a great weekend.

Our double feature starts off with FEMAELSTROM revisiting that phenomenal game, Journey. Much has been written about it, and it has been nominated for and/or has won just about every important videogame award there is. And now, its soundtrack has been nominated for a Grammy.

Next, Burbie reexamines the question: why do people leave Home? Sometimes it's due to console failures, sometimes it’s due to trolling and bullying. And sometimes, it’s just time to move on.

We hope you enjoy.

Hello, HSM readers!

Here is tonight's double feature.

Jin Lovelace brings us yet another fabulous fashion video. This time it's all about Codeglue's leggings. Need some ideas on how to put some outfits together with them? This video has you covered.

Next, we have reprinted with permission and in its entirety Azure Bonds' fantastic assessment of Lockwood's Auction Machine, complete with Lockwood's response. Was this experiment a success for one of Home’s premier developers?

We hope you enjoy.

Hello, HSM readers!

Here is tonight's double feature.

On the eve of their release, editor SealWyf ruminates on the potential of Lockwood's Horses of the Prairie. With a tailor-made public space you can only fully explore by horseback, the possibilities to expand upon this idea are endless – will Lockwood take advantage of them?

And KrazyFace is back with more Dispatches From Xi! In this installment, we discover the origins of EatFlamingDeath, and we learn more about Stapler’s fate… (Editor’s note: spoilers for those who have not played the game up to this point.)

We hope you enjoy.

Re: The Official HomeStation Magazine (HSM) thread

Jan 17, 2013

Hello, HSM readers!

Here is tonight's double feature.

In our continuing theoretical series about the lifecycle of Home drawing to a close, team writer Phoenix ponders on the meaning of being Home-less. Nothing lasts forever, not even Home. The question is: what will you do once it’s gone?

Next, team writer Burbie compares one of her favorite non-Home games, Sim City Social, to Home Tycoon. Are there lessons the team over at Hellfire Games can learn to from Facebook's best game of 2012 to deepen the community experience of their city-builder?

We hope you enjoy.

Hello, HSM readers!

During E3, we had the opportunity to interview Tempest_Fire about Digital Platforms, the MVP program, the core philosophy of the PlayStation brand, and more:

Full article is available here: http://www.hsmagazine.net/2013/07/hsm-presents-a-video-interview-with-paul-sullivan-scea-digital-pla...

Many thanks to SCEA Digital Platforms and Tempest, without whose support this video would not exist. If you wish to view it in Home itself, it's available via the HSM EOD Channel. We hope you enjoyed! :smileyhappy:

Cheers,
