Re: Please BAN ISE: EDO top 10 prize already hacked...

Also those who ISE items are not helping much here an example

A certain event will happen and people will get the rewards if they manage to get a certain score or complete a game etc however in order to get the rewards you need to buy an item but people knowing that those items will be hacked will simple not buy the item to participate in such events thus less revenue for the developers and if they don't make money they can't continue to produce items for Home everyone losses in the end so yea ISE hackers do a lot of harm to the home service

ipwnzj00, so what you are saying is if someone were to Win a #1 leaderboard jacket from the casino that defines that they were the winner, and then the item were to be hacked and all of a sudden, 500 people were walking around with the same jacket, You think that the real winner has no reason to be upset. Yes, a bragging right may be a petty thing to you, but others take them serious. Let's go further, why even have a trophy system on the ps3? Aren't they just bragging rights? What I am saying is, Sony and certain dev teams set up these type of events for people that like to compete for rewards that are exclusive ( and of course to make money which isn't my issue but theirs.) The more that are out there devalues the original. You can use that example in any aspect of life.

trophies can be hacked and people dont have to pay for the games to do it. thats cheating and the devs lose out money on their games but no one complains about these people all the top trophy people know who the best players out there are and whos the fakes. why is home so different is it cos home people are just weird in the head lol uh oh better hide can o worms bout to explode

This is going to be my last post in this topic because I've said what I need to say, but I'm going to respond to this before I do.

Yes, I would still consider that petty. A trophy to me has never been about getting the trophy itself. A trophy is a bit of metal on a stand, what ultimately matters is the work that you put in. You know, deep down, that you worked hard to earn the item that you got. It will give you a great sense of accomplishment knowing, just to yourself, that you were in the top 10, so why is flauting the fact so important to you? In cases like this, a journey shouldn't be about the destination.

Personally, I don't get why the need to be exclusive to you people exists in the first place. This reminds me of all the people who complain when other people use cheat codes in games that they're really good at. It doesn't take away from your achievement at all, so it shouldn't be something that upsets you.

Even if it "devalues the original," the original is still the original. As long as you know it's legitimate, it shouldn't matter.

Hell, since obviously being in the top 10 was the only thing that really mattered to you, you shouldn't be upset. The leaderboard is still there. After all you still have your bragging rights.

My last point, is that whether it's ten people, a hundred people, a thousand people, even a million people who take these bragging rights so seriously, that doesn't make them something they're not. It's just an excuse to say "I'm better than you. Nananana boo-boo!" So no, I don't respect the fact that you care so much about that.

Edit: Two things.

1. I don't condone the ISE hackers, I've already said that you should report them and devs should work to fix it, what I don't "condone" is your supposed bragging rights. That's what I'm arguing against.

2. That argument about counterfeit is also something that's not really founded on valid principals. It relies on the basis that Home items actually carry any real value, which they don't. A single item that a person owns is simply a piece of data, and it can be recreated infinitely. In real life the same can't be said. The Earth has limits regarding the amount of items we can have,  Home does not. Value of the items on Home is totally relative for the buyer, which granted, is just like anything else, but the difference is ultimately what I just said. Earth, a place where currency exists, has limits. Home, a virtual space, does not.

This is something I kept in mind when I made my argument. If somebody was to have some sort of magical power to recreate items at their will in real life, maybe then you could be sad if somebody copied your car, but only because that would have a real impact on the economy.

If you knew what you were talking about Anno I'd actually address your trophy theories, PLUS, I don't want to take away from what the OP originally intended this post for. If you want to disguss this further, send me a pm.

Yes, because Life is just Hearts and Flowers, we should turn our heads and look the other way when problems arise. Smart.

Please stop trolling my thread because you may or may not be frightened of Sony peeking in your wardrobes^^ This thread is for people to speak up on a very valid concern. If you don't like this thread, please leave. I haven't created a myriad threads on the matter... just this one. Now please stop attempting to argue with people fed up with item hacks who post in this thread.

So if 20 people create "just one" thread about about the same topic, that's OK?

This is like the third thread in two weeks about the same thing. It doesn't matter who created it, you're only beating a dead horse.

Ramble on.

People who are fed up with item hacks, please say so. Try not to argue with savage or the like as they are attempting to degrade a serious thread into bickering in order to get it locked.
