Okubi Hunting Discussion (NA)

Apologies if there's already a discussion thread for Okubi Hunting.

Hey guys. As many of you know, the Okubi Event at Edo has officially started.

Feel free to use this thread to discuss the game, strategies, rewards, meet ups for group battles, etc.

I've been enjoying the game so far. It's a bit tough but it gets easier once you get to know the monster's move patterns, like with the original Edo game. I enjoy using the rifle but I've been using my club for the most part.

This week's reward; Okubi Doll.

Week one's reward.

Spoiler

 Tea Kettle, Odokuro.

Week two's reward.

Spoiler

Long Rifle Wall Hanging. Thanks Jason1802128 for the pics.

OH1

OH2

Week three's reward.

Spoiler

Hitoban Doll.

Week four's reward.

Spoiler
Hanging Scroll with Calligraphy ("One Shot One Kill")!

Are there leaderboards with this game? Curious what if any level ups there may be?

Nope, no leaderboard for this event.
Which is a good thing really. I can't go through another grindfest. :smileytongue:

I know. I wouldn't have it in me. I got the costumes earlier today. I'll get around to trying it soon enough. I hope this is at least going to last a couple weeks.

I believe there's 5 or so weekly rewards, so it's going to be around for a while.

I'll update the thread with the other rewards as the weeks go on.

:smileysurprised: What did that guy do to you? To use his skull for a teapot, it must have been bad. :smileywink: It will look good in my Cutteridge Estates, though.

Not that hard. Like I said, you just gotta learn their movements. The rifle is definitely more effective for taking out targets at longer ranges, so you don't have to worry about getting close to them and possbily taking damage. Only downsides are, its attack is low and you only get 3 shots for every reload. And reloading is rather slow, but you can reload faster if you hit enemies with the gun itself.

I completed a game using my club from Setsubun and it wasn't that hard. You just risk taking more damage getting so close to the enemies, especially the Okubi themselves since they have an attack where they drop down, and you'll take damage if you're too close. But its more than possible to complete the game without the rifle.

Not that hard if you have life recovery. If you don't then you just need to take your time, figure out the pattern of the enemies of when it's safe to attack, and don't get much damage during your run.

How do you earn the reward? Do you purchase it with earned ryo from completed games?
