Just go to the Playstation Updates Board. They usually have a couple of threads floating around.
Some with the name of "If 2.80 messed up your system, post here!" But I litterally think that they post a thread, after each firmware, just to get kudo's and posts. Cause there always flooding with posts.

What your failing to understand is, is that people say that after EVERY update. All of us here on the board have updated.. with no problems.
I think your making it more of a big deal than it is. The general population, has never had a problem with updating Firmwares.

well if it's on the internet it must be true.
If the firmware really was a problem sony would have either fixed it by now, or most of us would have busted PS3s. If it was still a problem we would all know about it, and the boards would still be full of posts about it. So either it was never really an issue, or it's been fixed.
Either way, like Bobby Brown said, "It's Your Prerogative." Personally, I think that people whom had PS3 issues arising from the updates aren't telling us the full truth. Like others had said before me, "why would Sony create an update that would ruin/worsen game play?" They wouldn't. After all, the developers/engineer/designers know more about our system then anyone else.
I have an 80G MGS4 Bundle PS3 system and I've downloaded all updates and have never encountered any issues afterwards. I wonder if the people that are experiencing problems are the ones that have downloaded other "Operation Systems" such as: Linex Yellow Dog or Fendora; which may be causing conflicting issues. Either way, I think there's more to the story.

It is an optional update.. so you can do what ever you want.
But what makes 2.8, any different than 3.0? Why do you feel safer downloading 3.0, rather than the other? Its made by the same people. Released the same way. All it has is different features.
