May pose a problem...

8 replies 67 views Edited Mar 10, 2007
Well, if i heard correctly, you can invite people back to your own custom built private home for parties right? Well it may pose a problem if people start putting videos and images around their home of questionable material... meaning skin... It just may anger parents and other groups because there would really be any warnings for people before they accept and invite to someone's home.
PS3 Games:
Resistance: Fall of Man, MotorStorm, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Virtua Fighter 5
MGS Collection:
Metal Gear Solid (PS1), Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions (PS1), Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (PS2), Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance (PS2), Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (PS2), Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence (PS2), Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops (PSP)

Just go to peoples homes you know instead of ones you don't know.  Then you get rid of the risk

Yeah, this was addressed in the large Q&A. You must accept the invite, therefore anything you see is at your own risk.

All homes in PS Home are private spaces - anything that a person wants can be done in the that space. If you are invited in it is your responsibility if you enter. Basically didn't your parents tell you not to go with strangers? if the parents are not monitering what their kids are doing ....

that being said...

(Dev FAQ)

Q: Will users be able to make complaints about other users?

Of course. We will operate a system of logging complaints with our moderators, which will then be investigated. If necessary we are able to take away a user's login rights and ban them from the service.

Q: How much control will we have over what people get up to in theirprivate spaces?

As stated before, our policy is that what people get up to in their own private spaces is up to them, and a user cannot be invited to another user's private space until they have accepted an invitation to be on their buddy list. However, the complaints process will still operate in these private spaces, so if people feel that they have been subjected to inappropriate behaviour while in someone's private space, they will be able to lodge a complaint by the usual process.

Not to mention, if there is something you see there that you are uncomfortable with, just leave. You wont be forced to stay there, so if it is something you don't like, leave. It it is something that should be reported, then report it.

Well of coarse you can be banned. You can be banned from any online thing. You can't have people running around doing whatever they please, breaking rules and all that.

There has been talk about this already and there will be moderators there and it will be supervised so there is no immediate worries about safety in this aspect
