It's been just over 3 weeks since that announcement and thus far I don't see much in the way of appreciation for this move. I find it unlikely that a change will ever be made, but seeing that GW did make an out of character update/info thread yesterday ([NEW CONTENT] Diesel Museum and Gallery). I have to wonder why the blog info for Home can't remain being posted prior to the update with such info threads being made as needed.
I think we all understand that sometimes planned content doesn't make the cut for whatever reason (the new slots this week for example) but I would think that the vast majority would appreciate a heads up in advance despite the occasional miscommunication. Even though there are people who will carry on to no end because the newest Granzella space, or a long awaited LMO didn't get released as planned, many more of us would be happy to receive this news as we once did.

Exactly, I used to look forward to the blog. Used it to determine what I might want to purchase or at least check out on Wednesday. Now I never look at the blog. If it cannot be published before Wednesday, then they might as well not publish it at all.
But I do see the post on the blog. When Glass made the post earlier in the week, comments averaged about 50 or so. Since the post-update switch, it's down to less than half that number on average. A 50%+ drop in participation from the previous pre-update period is very telling in my opinion.

I've noticed that drop-off in blog comments as well. Along with that of course, there has been a drop off in replies.
This revised blog schedule is really a lose-lose-lose for all parties. The users no longer use the blog as a barometer for what to expect in the forthcoming update, the Developers are not getting that helpful extra promotional push from Sony because by the time the post is up everyone is pretty much aware of new items, either from the developers themselves via the forums or Home sites, or just by exploring the commerce points after the update goes live. And I imagine that Glass can’t be too thrilled at the prospect of getting up each Wednesday at the crack of dawn just to put up a blog post (granted, that’s not the only thing he does, and I can’t speak at all for Glass himself, but I imagine if this is the only reason for him to be around at that hour then I would think that its counter-productive, but that’s just my opinion). And I haven’t even mentioned the three straight weeks of posts that had inaccuracies (although unexpected maintenance did in fact give us the new casino slots). Let’s hope a better sense of convenience for everyone prevails.
i havent checked the blog update since the switch. i just go on Home now and read the message of the day and check the new stuff in the store section in the navigator.
also to add that most of the 3rd party Home content for the week is posted here prior to the update by regular users or in some cases, by the own devs of the content. the blog update has become obsolete.
