Pretty much, according to Phil Harrison. But I think I would rather do it in Home anyhow. I doubt you will be able to play pool or bowl or hold auctions though the XMB.

Cant you do everything in Home through the XMB

Almost Everything

That is why most people will continue to use the XMB for their gaming functions and Home for Socializing.  Sony needs to continue to update the XMB and make it as good as Live.

Well i would think they will have to anyways to be able to make home work. I  am far from a programmer but i would think it would be diffacult to make home work properly without haveing those basic tools in XMB

When you connect to the home server...it will bring you to the lobby....there you can walk around the home's "world"....but for easier access to get to certain places you can press the start button which will bring up the virual psp and it will say....World Map under one of the links....click on it then it will bring up the world map of home and select a destination to spawn in....
