Re: In case you forgot: Casino Thanksgiving Reward (Spoilers?)

Mkay, since noone else is gonna say it...I will.

Is it just me or do these holiday rewards get lamer and lamer every year? sparklers, national flags, beaver hats? the 2 best rewards i have ever gotten from the casino (without having to buy chips and gamble) are the fountain and the future glasses.

They hyped this all up too. "Be sure not to miss your ONE DAY ONLY reward from the casino, for a limited time and EXCLUSIVE to this one particular day of the year."

The next lamesauce reward they throw at me...im totally not going.

What a refreshing picture of an endangered species of a lady in home who is neither a vapid clotheshorse or someone who charges you 20 dollars. Bring back the natural look and women who are std free looking.

Won't it just be more polite when you receive a gift to just be thankful?

We get lots of rewards. Some are better than others. I suspect this reward may have more meaning for those who live in Canada.

[ Edited ]

The Beaver played a big part in the formation and exploration of this country...Mostly because of the fur trade and the market for Beaver pelts in England. and yes for hats.

Re: In case you forgot: Casino Thanksgiving Reward (Spoilers?)

So did the compass and map.

What do either of these items have anything to do with the general and traditional meanings of Thanksgiving?

Last I remember (at least what little truth the schools actually taught us) Historically, Thanksgiving began as a tradition of celebrating the HARVEST of the year. Prayers of thanks and special thanksgiving ceremonies are common among almost all religions after harvests and at other times.

In canada specifically, the origin of Thanksgiving goes back to the explorer Martin Frobisher who had been trying to find a northen passage to the pacific ocean. Frobisher's Thanksgiving celebration was not for harvest, but was in thanks for surviving the long journey from England through the perils of storms and icebergs.

So, again...what does beaver hats have anything to do with that?  o_O
