Digital Leisure Doubled House Fee on Poker!

29 replies 607 views Edited Jan 9, 2013

Yes, it comes as no surprise to me that they would do something like this.  Amid all the updates today, there was one that was supposed to make poker more "competitive."   What they meant by this is they stopped paying out anything for 4th and 5th places while not increasing any of the payouts for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd.  This effectively almost doubles the percentage that the house keeps from all the buy-ins, from 6.7% to an excessive 12.5%.  Digital Leisure, it's time to stop greedily pushing your profits to the detriment of your own players.

That's unpleasant news. The right thing to do would have been to combine the payouts for fourth and fifth place into the overall pot, then pay them out on a weighted basis for first, second and third places. That would make things a little more competitive and keep the house fee constant.

No more getting chip rewards for fifth and fourth place? Thats so unfair DIgital Leisure. I mean why would you do this anyway? You guys were doing well until this. Is this really how you want to start off the new year?

I cannot believe they tried to sneak this change in under the guise of it being good for the competition.  This does nothing but make people lose their chips faster so they will have to purchase more from Digital Leisure's store.

I thought that was only for the new High Rollers room when I read it. Absolutely nothing surprises me anymore in terms of what these upstart developers in Home will do for more money. Keep in mind that many developers in NA Home are foreign-based (DL is in Canada).....and the American consumer dollar is an easy ride to big money for them. They struck gold is what they did--might as well keep on digging. lol

Hmm, it seems the "Development Costs" speech from users is being applied now, IMO.  smh

Well, it's no fun designing software in an igloo, eh.

Plus, the Casino itself must cost a fortune to heat in the dead of winter. :smileytongue:
