Complete MiniBot Guide

[ Edited ]
67 replies 3461 views Edited Jul 24, 2013

SinglePlayer(MiniBots: BattleBox) vs MultiPlayer(MiniBots Training Facility)//Serenity Plaza(MiniBot Arena):

-Single player is only for those that have purchased the BattleBox Active Item from the Juggernaut Games store, while multiplayer is given to anybody who visits someone's Training Facility in the form of a personal space.

-Purchase of the SinglePlayer gives a Blue "Build Kit", while receiving the MultiPlayer gives a Red "Build Kit" and armory tiles.

-SinglePlayer and Multiplayer are NOT compatible, items such as ammo piles, weapon pads, and bounce/hazard objects to not affect SinglePlayer.(think 1P as MiniBots1.0, Multi as 2.0, and they have not been patched to collaborate)

-In ANY mode, outside users cannot see a player's activities, or be seen in MiniBot or Avatar form, only exception is if a game of Multiplayer is started as an Observer.

-Multiplayer currently does not have the ability to late-join, be it as a competition or Observer in the Training Facility.

Gadgets for Multiplayer:

-All Gadgets for Multiplayer are unlocked in the Juggernaut's MiniBot store for $, not tokens. The only exception being the Cake Gadget that was received for completion of the SinglePlayer demo that was once in the Action District.

-The Hoverdisc LMOs bought in bundle or singularly unlock the Gadget.

-The $10 "Ultimate Bundle" gives all gadgets, the Assaulter and Abuser, as well as GirlBot and GentleBot MiniBot Decorations and Avatar head items for both Single and Multiplayer games.

-The Guardian is obtained through the $10 bundle (And Gadgets Bundle too, cant remember? :smileyfrustrated:)

All gadgets besides the Sentry and Turret Gadgets are represented as purchased with furniture, those 2 Gadgets are represented as purchased companions.

If someone with a screen-capture tool can send me 'icons' of the gadgets(Default grey minibot with the Gadget active is best, the Single-player Icons is fine) I will make a Gadgets tip guide to go with the weapons one below.

Juggernaut Tokens:

Alvin's Armory works like a miniature LKWD Giftmachine, in that when an item is purchased, a menu of "Who receives the item?" lists every user in the space with the buyer, so that the buyer or a "giftee" may receive the item purchased with JugTokens.

Alvin's Armory:

All items in Alvin's Armory are for purchase as a 'Targeted Gift' for yourself, or anyone in the space with you. All items in the Weapons and Decorations tabs give matching items for your MiniBot and your Avatar. Battlefield Effects and Furniture are MiniBot scaled items only.

Gameplay -

-SinglePlayer(MiniBots: BattleBox)

20 Levels of MiniBot vs enemy drones, followed by infinite-mode of random enemies spawning, as levels are completed, level progress is saved so that it can be restarted from a level of choosing. Ex. Beat up to level 14, and it should give you the option to select levels 1-14, beat all 20 and you can also select Infinity.

Assaulter and Abuser weapons are default equipped weapons, and ammo crates spawn randomly around the map to pick up for ammo, refilling a set ammunition and 2 Grenades until maxed.

-MultiPlayer(MiniBots Training Facility)//Serenity Plaza(MiniBot Arena) - 2-8 players per game

-Square tiles = Unlimited pickups, while circle tiles = 1 pickup.

-The Training Facility and the MiniBot Arena have different jump mechanics, it should be taken into account when playing/building in their respective areas.

*NOTE* The Training Facility has a semi-solid wall behind the Multiplayer podium, this wall is solid for Multiplayer games, but is semi-solid for SinglePlayer. If you put the BattleBox into the Training Facility, put it on the side opposite the Multiplayer podium, otherwise the game loads all ammo crates and enemies onto the side with the fountain, and not into the Arena portion of the space, though they can pass through it to the Arena side, they do not do it actively unless the flying bots are in pursuit.

-Serenity Plaza(MiniBot Arena)
XP mechanics:

3xp = Gadget Kills & Multi-Kill (3xp per set of multi-kill, regardless of how many died as it happened)

5xp = Default Blaster & Grenade Kills

7xp = Headbutt & Premium (Ranged) Weapon Kills

10xp = Premium Melee Kills

25xp = End of game bonus for owning SinglePlayer(MiniBots: BattleBox)

100xp = Once a day, end of game bonus, for each unique map pack hosted.(Ex. 100xp for your first Grassland map hosting, once a day)

Possibly other XP bonuses for owning the farm, estate, etc? Please let me know if there is one so I can add it here.

Rewards listed from weapons can be unlocked in both multiplayer Arena spaces.

Common Bugs in Serenity Plaza(MiniBot Arena):

Gameplay -

-"Reloading" a melee weapon, sometimes causes a glitch where you cannot change weapons until you've died. Most common with the axe. (Because melee weapons have nothing to reload, you'll know this happens when the reload animation happens anyways if you press the reload button.)

-Grenades, Gadgets, dead bots, and other misc. factors move/dislodge parts of the Arena builds, try not to get stuck.

-Unlocked titles, weapons/gadgets, etc. not being recognized - this tends to be fixed with a game restart or reloading of the SP.

-Inability to customize. - Very common by the sound of things, so if you have a favorite, stick to it folks. :smileyfrustrated:

Mechanics -

-Repulsion Orbs are very 'laggy', and either do not repel MiniBots, or take several seconds to act in most cases.

-Jump Pads are very finicky, you need to be dead-center or on the edges of the pad to get them to function.

-VERY slippery tiles, meaning if one is on a ledge, approach it carefully unless you want to be flung off that edge.

-Jumps don't do much, you have to really mash the button to clear the smaller hurdles. - This 1 is more for the veterans.

-Thunder Cannon needs a nerf if the jump is unable to clear the blast, it's impossible to avoid, and spammed constantly for it's AoE.

Map Building -

-Putting things flush against something, be it floor, other object, or wall, usually makes what you are trying to place 'bounce' while holding it, and bounce in a random way after attempting to place it. Makes putting objects larger than weapon pads very hard to 'link' smoothly without gaps.

-Items will disappear as you build, requiring regular stops to save, otherwise you can be halfway into a portion of building, only to lose half of it.

-Ammo pads do not count towards the weapon count, but it doesn't clarify that, to rookie builders, it should be noted.

-What does the "Center" button actually center? >.>

Misc. Issues -

-Blue "Build Kit" parts are missing from the Builder Ver.1, as well as the Garden item only having SP foliage, minus the MiniBot Topiary, and no Armory/mappack related plantlife.

Suggestions -

-Red Mechanic outfit... c'mon! XD Have Blue, where's the other team's love?

-Ability to customize the MiniBot Spawner's output, and increased range.(5 slots may be good, but the minibots can't even cross the Harbour Studio before shrinking away, gonna be a problem w/ larger spaces and Active Item limits)

-Builders: Add a Builder to the Armory's triggers as a reward for buying certain sets of parts. Ex. Hazard Builder for buying all the hazards, Wood Builder for owning all the wooden/tree bits, etc. Alot is left out of an ingenius system. Also, put the MiniBot Topiary in the plant one, at least. lol

Lol Thanks Lil. Glad to say I'm not a guide. :smileytongue: Just what I call a "Freebie Guru", Guides have gag-orders and rules. :3 No likey those.

Updated the guide with Gameplay now. Also, anybody interested in MiniBots is welcome to FR me on the PSN w/ MiniBots in the message, as I've made multiple arenas.

Finally got around to buying the ultimate bundle. Best purchase I've made on home since the

sodium one pilot jacket. Hope they get around to making the single player and multiplayer

versions compatible so we can wear the same decoration and use the same guns in either version.

Updated with 8/8 patch info regarding the Mechanite Reaper reward and the resulting 'completion' prize the axe's working status now finishes.

I'll be online a bit if people want to add me to gather together and boost the 10kill requirements for obtaining the gold trophy, just add MiniBots to the XMB msg so I know this is why.

Lol Thanks for the support Fazeone.

Here's a scale-shot picture of all the weapon-prize furniture items. Please note the Blaster gives a hand item, and the Guardian is a Gadget, so the healpad has no weapon-tile beside it, and the Blaster isnt present in the pic. Other objects are next to their respective weapon tile.

Once AZ4 catches up, I'll go back and add the Home-item squares to the Prizes section, and maybe a weapons handling/pro&con part later on.
