Board games? Poker in HOME?

63 replies 4 views Edited May 19, 2007
I think some board games that you could play would be fun.  Multiplayer Monopoly, Risk, etc.

I think Texas Hold 'em tournaments with fake money would be fun.  These would be great 'online community' type games that would keep people in Home for a long time.  (think of the ad$, Sony!)  Just an idea.  Scrabble, too.  And Chess, of course.  Definitely Monopoly, though.

Would you play if it were there?  If so, what game(s)?

The monopoly and risk idea are good. I'm sure Sony could eventually integrate something like this into Home.(If they wanted to - Depending on demand)  However, the Texas Hold em' and Poker I think are a no go. Even if it is "fake money", it poses a risk to gambling. So, I doubt you'll see that.

It would be kind of hard to finish a game of monopoly in one sitting. You would have to have a save feature for most long games. It would even be that much harder when you have 8 players and trying to round everyone up. Simple board games would be great though.

I think what would be cool is to have Sony invent an online collectible card game. You could buy starter and booster packs to make your own decks. Invite friends over and even have tourney's.

Online Monopoly games exist already with up to 4 players.  It doesn't take as long as the real board game because your money and moving of the pieces is done for you.  So when you need to pay $18 in rent, you don't have to break a $20 at the bank or get $2 in change from that player... it's just done for you, which saves so much time, you can usually play many games in an evening.
