JW
Okay, I stayed off Playstation Home from Friday Jan 25 11:00pm until about 6:30 pm Wed. Jan 30.
My HDD took exactly 4 minutes to repair, I thought wow that's an improvement.
I got onto Home and went to Lockwood Showcase.
Tried to download X7 and Diesel.
Went to my Personal space, then to Diesel.
Walked around Diesel and got the rewards, then went into the Diesel shop and promptly got frozen.
I had approximately 13 minutes of time on Home before getting frozen, once again while trying to shop.
My HDD is currently up to about 20 minutes trying to repair itself once again, and still waiting, it will probably take 45 minutes.
This is absolutely ridiculous and not acceptable to a customer.
I really don't want to ruin my HDD, because playing on Playstation Network has been fine for playing games.
The problem is with Home itself and nothing else.
I think I've been patient and quite polite in waiting for things to improve on Home, but quite frankly I don't see it happening any time soon.
I appreciate your attention in trying to get to the root of the matter, but I feel you probably can't do anything about it.
This Playstation Home needs to be shut down and given time for the techs to get into the system and clean it up, permanently!
It makes sense to do this to make the experience of Home what is should be....... a fun experience without being frozen everytime you try to go somewhere or do something, which make the experience of Home a frustrating and infuriating one.
Again, I want to Thankyou JW, as you usually answer any inquiries, and you seem like a good person.
I would like to know about any progress in finding a solution to the freezing on Home.

I know a number in the EU have been having issues getting some Granzella content. I'm not sure if that is happening here as well. There might be a thread there taking about it and that is where Joystick Warrior reads about problems.
Missing items seem to have reached epidemic proportions on EU Home going by their support forum. I'm still waiting on a missing Vemee couch that was on sale a few weeks ago, with no help or word from Sony. Starting to think I'll have to chalk it up as a loss. I would highly recommend that any multi-region users here refrain from purchasinga ANYTHING on EU Home for the time being.

FREEZING PROBLEM FIXED
I too had a freezing issue and stumbled on a fix that worked for me.
First, I would freeze when I pressed the START button to open the menu and do something like change wardrobe. I noticed that both the SOCIAL and WWW wheels would spin for a moment, and then all would freeze, necessitating a shutdown with the power button and restart. Then of course the usual trouble report to Sony, and HDD repair would run before I was back in Home and doing it all over again.
I did all of the usual suggestions for freezing: cache, reinstall, everything else. No fix.
So, I looked in the SOCIAL menu and learned that if you have several requests to join clubs on your list, that list preloads behind the scene every time you press START. My list had over a dozen club-join requests, so the reload jammed things up because it is very slow. (no idea why Sony did not build this feature to handle more requests)
I deleted all of the requests to join other clubs, and the freezing problem completely cleared up.
My suggestions: keep only a few join requests outstanding to minimize the list preload time. If the club join-request list is not your cause of freezing, then closely observe what happens just before your freeze - whatever happens is the cause of your freeze. Dig into it!
Happy gaming!
