On my main account which is this one, I use mostly a male avatar. But I also have another account where I use both genders. I have friends who do that too. There's nothing wrong with it. You just have to be open minded to these things.
• She may like that she's getting hit on.
• She may not like that she's getting hit on.
• She may really be a guy -and likes that he's getting hit on.
what I asked was why do some male home users PRETEND to be female. theres a difference between using a female avatar and telling your friends that you're a girl name Suzie when youre really 40 year dude name Hank.
A couple of years ago, my wife asked me to create an account and avatar for her. Once I'd gotten it all finished, I walked her avatar from her Harbor Studio through the Central Plaza, and into the Mall, showing her how it all worked. Her avatar was less than ten minutes old, and some dude popped up. "Hi gorgeous, wanna go out?"
My wife laughed her head off. "Now you know what it's like! Women have to deal with this all the time!" So, now she uses both sexes. Her lady avatar for last Christmas's kissing game, for example, and a male avatar for when she doesn't want guys pestering her.
Well before I got my second account I was watching my niece for the day. And I let her make her own avatar and run around exploring Home. Well despite having the name Bob, guys still hit on her lol. That's one of the reasons I got a second unisex account.
