Re: "I left Aliens Vs. Androids unsatisfied." Thread

Feb 21, 2010

Wow... talk about missing the point while I sleep.

To the people STILL going on about 'pathetic people who only want prizes', I already told you lot that it isn't just about that. If we JUST wanted to socialise, we are all fully capable of doing so with a flash mobs to just make social parties. Point is, 'events' attract EVERYONE, including people we don't want to socialize with. So being told there's a prize makes sure if the social aspect isn't met, we can still get our treat for coming. Get over yourselves if you're going to call people who like to collect trophies and prizes 'pathetic' for doing so.

To those saying 'well, we won either way if we bought the alien bundle', that is the last point that should be made. These events are common, and are 1 failure after another. SO WHAT if they finally prevent a fail by including it in a bundle? Call it a day and leave it at that, don't give us a cheeseball excuse for an event saying there's an attendence prize too. A thread like this is for ALL the events, not just this one where they happened to prevent their own loathing by 100% of Homees felt screwed, and shut up those of you who'll roll over because 'well, we won it either way because we bought the bundle'.

Zombie Rally, Hamster Vs. Human, etc., all these 'events' you have to pay to get something, or attend, but they don't give us details on how to be sure we're counted in attendance. THAT is the purpose of threads like this. Keep to the point, or go buy some defective clothes from the Mall and say "it's ok because it's a Beta".

I don't budlist-add on forums, and blank PSN requests get ignored!
Missing Rewards -over a year old, still never fixed! 3-4 months worth of items still MIA.

Re: "I left Aliens Vs. Androids unsatisfied." Thread

I had a great time in one instance, where the Infamous Reaper Skulls showed up and took on both the Aliens and the Androids. It was fun to hang out with a bunch of Home users and jsut goof off for a while.

To the OP, I agree there could be some more organization. Why not have a countdown like the Domingo Races? Dance Off starts in 10 minutes, Dance Off starts in 5 minutes, etc., then let everyone know when it's over. That doesn't fix some of the problems you describe, but it at least sets a start and end time.

Apart from that, Home events are what you make of them. They're like bar events, really, just an excuse for everyone to get together and hang out. Maybe there'll be prizes, maybe there won't. Maybe you'll meet some cool people, maybe you won't. If it's just about the prizes, then there are already plenty of ways to win stuff in Home.

Wait... What? There's your issue. THERE WAS NO ATTENDENCE PRIZE!!! Nor was there ever one promised. Did you even actually read the message of the day or see the video? Wasn't that your full point before? Ya know, the part about getting ripped off because you "weren't in the winning instance" when there wasn't one?

Then right down to it. What did you have to pay for in the Zombie Rally? You could've easily got somebody to invite you into their personal space and got the items free, something that many took advantage of. In this one you didn't have to purchase anything either. The android outfits were 100% free of charge and something that everybody could access by just simply going to the mall. You didn't even really have to pay for Hamsters Vs Humans either. See the human bit? Isn't your avatar a human?

In this one you really didn't have to pay. The better part is you really shot yourself in the foot with this argument, something that if people read they could see. If you weren't in it for a prize that you assumed there'd be, why'd you go if you could socialize elsewhere? Isn't it for the fun of it all? Really you could've just got the free outfit, went back to your personal space and socialized there, and it'd be the same sort of thing as the event where you'd get the "reward" at the end with no attendance required.

THAT WAS THE POINT ALL ALONG! With this event the main purpose was to get together with fellow Home community members and mingle. The actual "prize" is something that will be awarded to everybody who has the android, alien, or both outfits. There was no "attendance prize".

Am I missing something though?

OMG your canoe has a hole in it! It doesn't hold any water.

If there was no need for anyone to attend, then how would they have determined the winner? What we're disappointed in most is that some of our instances weren't counted. Yes, it doesn't seem like the androids won out, but we should feel like every vote counts. By now we've all seen the pics of the single instance with TWO HCMs, a few HCVs and several of the forum regulars who all jumped to each other to party with Cyd and Glass. They look like they had fun, and good for them, but everyone in my instance felt left out because no HCM, Mod or even one of the 20 or 30 HCVs came by to count us. From what I've been hearing, there are several other instances that weren't counted either. What if there were instances where there were lots of aliens who invited all their alien friends? We'll never know. Football rule said Cyd kept leaving to count other instances. If that's true, then I'm glad she made at least SOME effort, but she did keep returning to that same instance with Glass and the HCVs. It would've been much more productive for them to split up and to also delegate to the Mods and/or HCVs to count ALL of the instances. To those who got to party with Cyd and Glass and had a good time, good for you. Personally, I'd rather have them doing their jobs...or even delegating for SOMEONE to do their jobs.

How do you know other instances weren't counted? Was that posted somewhere? I don't believe so.

I recall a post a few days ago that said they wouldn't start counting the totals until Monday. If anyone can find that, I'd be very greatful.
