Re: ps home relationships?

May 24, 2013

Sony does not endorse dating within home, but they do not discourage it either. It's one of those things they allow people to choose for themselves. And really, it only effects the two people involved, so the same as in real life, it's their choice and not subject to the judgement of others. To some people it's a game, to others it's serious. This falls into the catagory of, if you don't like it or don't understand it... don't do it.

I don't look for relationships or love in Home myself. But I have some friends who do and are in what they see as a commited relationship. So I just do my best to be supportive of it. Man Happy

This is something that really only my friends and people closest to me know, but I myself actually date someone on Home. We have been together now for approaching 6 months and yeah my feelings for him are actually very real. I don't see how anything that ever made/makes you happy can be dumb.

Even if we never meet in real life, he is still a rock to me. He is my best friend. I trust him with everything. I tell him everything. He knows me, he gets me and most of all we enjoy each others company.  I don't know what is dumb about that. Don't knock it until you try it.

How do you know they don't know each other?

Did they tell you all about their lives?

I have met married people who use Home and  just hang out and have fun using avatars to play games like in Midway or the Casino.

I've met people who found each other and Home and travel across the country to become friends and more.

So see its not so dumb.

I had a home relationship and did exactly what Lil Blue said. We ended up being together for like 2+ years IRL.

I will never date through psh due to the fact that I feel Id be living a lie. Questions always arise on my mind on whether people are dating someone due to the avatars appearance or because an avatar amplifys said feelings. I as well as most peoples have at one point seen a random person approach an avatar and immidiately ask them out. Ive seen people of all ages trying to pick up some girls just because their avatar looks good. Dont get me wrong I do not have a problem with people doing this but are you aware of what your doing and are you ok with it? Are you aware that you might actually like the avatar and not the person in general, that you might be lying to yourself as to were those feelings are coming from.

I'd have to agree with the overall disposition here; it works for some people but its definately NOT for everyone. There are a LOT of people out there who seem to think that you cant love someone, just cuz you cant physically interact with that person in the real. True love transcends ALL bounderies. Always remember that.

I do however disagree with a statement that Brises made, earlier: "Home dating only affects the 2 parties involved." At least in MY experience, this is not always true. Couples fight and argue on Home just as they do in real life. And when they do...it always seems to get friends on both sides involved, in some way or another.

It never ceases to amaze me...how some people just cant manage to mind their own business and remain neutral when the preverbial CRAP hits the fan.

I don't see a problem with it, if it's not effecting you. However this 1 time I was at x7 and this guy asked me to join his group to voice chat with him and his PShome girfriend went keyboard commando on me, so I walked away and then they both started harrassing me with pm's.Their over twice my age. Both called me all the names in the book.  I think they were looking to spice up their relationship Smiley LOL

LOL That happens. Some people get super territorial...and some people have good reasons for it. Maybe the guy has a history of messin around on his girl...gawd knows we got about a billion so called "playas" on Home.

Re: ps home relationships?

May 24, 2013

I wasn't going to post in this thread, but I feel like stating my two cents.

Well, to anyone who knows me, or really close to me on PlayStation Network, knows I've been in a relationship with a guy since March.

As you can guess it, we met on PlayStation Home actually. We've known each other for a few months though, however I remember seeing him around, before we ended up befriending each other last year.

I personally at one time, wouldn't even dare to date online. But, I say don't knock it till you at least experience it.

Of course, it's not easy at all. Mainly because you can't touch that person, or see them face to face. But, it doesn't black out the fact, they're a real person behind that avatar.

I don't even see my boyfriend as an avatar, I see him as I know him to be.. and that's why I'm with him.

Do I hope we end up meeting eventually, off the virtual world? You sure bet I do. We've already had talks over it, that in the future we'd like to work something out, to meet.

Because I don't wake up every day, and think.. "Oh, he's just my Home boyfriend, nothing more." No, he is my boyfriend and he's a lot more to me, than that. If I could have that with him some day, in the real world, I wouldn't turn it down for anything.
