A pretty much blank canvas that needs to be painted in as the game is played, a lot of hand holding,  not much in the sense of puzzles or solving anything. Pretty much today was a tutorial, beyond the initial teaser tutorial...BUT...this is only the first day.

My only gripe. You pay a big ticket for the game, and then you find out that there is an even larger pricetag for the addons. LOL I guess paying for the game is the cheap part.

Great presentation. Always a fan of an actual story and curious to see what all unlocks in the apartment and the rewards will be.

The Continuum public space is massive. So easy to get lost. Thank god you can use locomotions there.

The battle system is interesting. It's like the EU All Stars event one, only a bit more complex.

The main thing I dislike is how long the load time is going into the Continuum and the story will have you exiting and returning a lot.

I didn't really have any expectations and before today had no plan on purchasing but my curiousity got the better of me. So far I'm pleasantly surprised. Looking forward to see how this unfolds.

Yeah, it said "be back tomorrow" at the end of the last mission of the day.
Looks like 2 or 3 missions a day with story stuff mixed in.

From what I can tell, those add-ons are for completionists or for people that suck at the game and need additional help.

Not surprised at all.  Home is not about fun games anymore.  It's all about the money.  Greedy **bleep**.

Just to put things in perspective...
Sony isn't what's keeping Home alive. It's developers like Loot, Digital Leisure, Juggernaut, Heavy Water, Hellfire, Lockwood and nDreams.

Xi costs a bit, yes, but it helps support the development of the game and future Home growth.
At least it's not $60 or another Call of Duty clone.
Xi comes off as a much more immersive game or experience than most anything on Home right now.

Re: Xi2 Is Pay-To-Play only....

I look at Xi Continuum this way: it's like paying for a PlayStation Network title, only this is one you get to enjoy in PlayStation Home. Not everything can be free or cost a dollar because then we would not have anywhere near as much a variety of stuff as we have now. No Home Tycoon, no Mercia, Uproar, Cutthroats 2.0, MiniBots, Granzella Edo Defense, FUBAR, Home Fighter, Digital Leisure's Casino, Peakvox Ninja (seriously, wait til THAT comes out), etc. I don't understand this notion that Home's developers have strayed from creating a community of gamers. I just gave a bunch of examples of games that can be played in Home. If Home isn't a community of gamers, then who is playing those games? Robots?

Video games have always cost money to play. They cost money to make too. With PSN and Home being a free service for PS3 users, someone has to pay for the bills. I was there to experience Xi when it first came out, so let me say I disagree completely with those who claim Home was better during that time. Back then there wasn't very much to do or see, and then Xi showed up and demonstrated the possibilities of what could be achieved on such a platform. Some say it was the high-water mark of Home but I look at it as a point of transition.

When that door opened, I chose to release Xi and see what would happen. It brought about change, which in a way is kinda similar to what Home has undergone. The other choice, to destroy Xi, talked about us staying on the same course. If Home had continued the course it was on at the time, I don't think it would have come as far as it has. Maybe you missed Home's 4 Year Anniversary party yesterday, but I was there and saw something I haven't seen in years. It made me think "Wow, we've come this far and can still party in an avatar train!"

Again, the intro was pretty amazing. I hope we get more cutscense like that. Day 1 was just enough of a tease to make me want to know what the other 46 days will bring. Overall, I am happy to have invested my money into the game.

Gee whiz, folks. Should games be free, should the necessities of life, food and entertainment all be free? Wouldn't it be nice but it ain't going to happen save for a few freebies. Without profit companies, businesses, people selling things, wouldn't do it. At least I don't think so.

I played the first Xi and enjoyed it even though I wasn't able to finish it and it near drove me crazy at times. But it was fun.

I started Xi2 and it's way too early to tell what I will think of it in time. I did buy the apartment and the companion. I expect this one will drive me crazy too but I hope I have the fun factor and if I don't, that's the way it goes sometimes.
