Re: Watch Moives in Home Cinema... just as if you went to the Cinema!

I agree, it would take people outta the theaters.  Think cinema companies (Regal, AMC, United Artists, etc.) have something to say about that.

With the piracy concerns and the revenues lost at the actual theaters, I don't think we'll ever see a new movie on Home.  Besides, I would miss movie theater popcorn.  Microwave just isn't the same.

i think it would be cool to be able to watch movies before they come out at the comfort of your own home  but pay for the movie and the only place you could watch it is in the theater

Comcast is trying something like that, releasing first run movies on pay per view the day the come out in the theaters. Are you ready for the cost? $35 - $50 per movie. I don't know how popular that would be here if they charged similar rates.

That sounds about right.  When you consider that the typical group of moviegoers would be about 4 people at 7-8 bucks a pop this is a typical cost.  Plus, how else would the studios know if you are paying 7-8 bucks just for yourself and inviting the whole neighborhood over.  Besides, I believe that the cinemas and the studios go hand in hand.  There is too much profit to be made by getting you in the cinema and blowing all of your cash on expensive soda, popcorn, candy, nachos, etc.

even if they flash your name in the corner, you still can sell the movie in your city and sony wont know about it then. what they should do is just wait till it comes out on dvd and just be able 2 download it

Sony would have to buy the movie if they wanted to implement it into Home.

That would be pretty cool but it would take alot of effort so Sony would probably add a bit to the cost to make profit outta it but id be ready to pay a little extra.
