Re: The Official HomeStation Magazine (HSM) thread

Dec 1, 2012

Aloha, HSM readers!

Today's double feature has some good, meaty stuff to take into the weekend:

First up, we examine the October 2012 top-ten sales list from SCEA (by number of units sold) for PlayStation Home virtual commodities! Who bought what during the month -- and, more importantly, why did they buy it? Some interesting consumer trends have emerged.

Second, HSM team writer Burbie52 interviews Heavy Water producer Stephen Grose about Emo Ray, the new hit game for Home! What's the deal with the color scheme, the teddy bears, et cetera? Come find out.

Re: The Official HomeStation Magazine (HSM) thread

Dec 2, 2012

Hello, HSM readers!

Here is tonight's installment.

First up, Kassadee's "On a Budget" series is back! While it’s no real secret that Home items such as the mansion appeal to those who like the “bling” aesthetic popularized by the hip-hop and rap scene, what other items that also follow this style can one buy – on a budget?

Next, Ted brings his unique perspective on Home and what experiences it brings to the senses. The problem with immersing oneself into a virtual world is that not all of the senses are being utilized. But what if they could be? What would certain parts of Home *smell* like?

We hope you enjoy.

Hello, HSM readers!

Here is tonight's update.

One of our editors, BONZO, looks at the revamped Lockwood showcase, which has received a revamp in last week's update. It also brings with it hints at a potentially revolutionary way to sell commodities in Home. How would an auction in Home work, and what would be the possible implications?

We hope you enjoy.

Hello, HSM readers!

Here is tonight's installment, a pair of articles dealing with being a part of - and then leaving - Home.

First, team writer Phoenix is back, discussing the difference between a person leaving Home temporarily, and permanently. Is this then the difference between running away from home, and running away from Home?

Next, Editor-in-Chief NorseGamer looks at why one would leave Home. Do you have a best friend in PlayStation Home? That one question, more than anything else, determines your level of engagement with it.

We hope you enjoy.

Hello, HSM readers!

Here is tonight's installment, and it's all about this week's update!

First, our editor, SealWyf, takes a look at Digital Leisure's forthcoming Bingo parlorIt’s time to grab your good luck trolls, lucky rabbits foot and ink daubers - it's Bingo time.

Next, team writer Jin Lovelace gives us an overview of what Juggernaut's offerings this week. Apparently, they think you all have been very good boys and girls this year. The proof? Look what they have to offer in this week’s update.

And finally, Burbie continues our coverage on Xi. For years, the Home community has yearned for its return, and now it has. But Home is not the place it was when Xi first debuted. How will this new Xi compete for our attention in the Home that exists today?

We hope you enjoy.

Aloha, HSM readers!

Avalanche! Hot on the heels of our last triple feature, here's another triple feature to enjoy!

First up, HSM team writer Burbie52 examines Juggernaut's winter offerings, including their latest in controllable weather effects and the promotion they're using to grow their audience penetration on Twitter and Facebook. Is this a good strategy for them to pursue?

Second, we look at LOOT's portable radios, and why their pricing is actually quite fair. Not exactly a popular stance to take on this forum, granted, but worth considering nonetheless.

Third, HSM editor BONZO takes a closer look at Juggernaut's new machinima tool -- the Observer camera. This is a dramatic leap forward for Home machinimists, and should be taken advantage of.

Dec 6, 2012

Aloha, HSM readers!

What, you want more content after we ran six articles yesterday?

Oh, fine. Smiley Tongue

First up, HSM photographer Olivia_Allin offers up her latest installment of her "Caption This Picture" column, this time with a special treat: a real-world photo from Lockwood! And it's rather, um, odd...

Second, HSM editor BONZO looks at Lockwood's latest entry into the Iron Fusion lineup: the futuristic Envoys. Asymmetric clothing design is hard to pull off, so how did Lockwood do?

Hello, HSM readers!

After the deluge of articles we've unleashed over the week, how about a bit of a break, eh?

Yeah, right.

Rounding out our week of Juggernaut coverage, Kassadee returns with her "On a Budget" column, only this time, she's having a bit of a dilemma. What is it? Well, read the article and find out. Smiley Wink

We hope you enjoy.

Hello, HSM readers!

It's the weekend (finally!), and you know what that means over at HSM.

Yep, that's right - it's Wishlist time!

First, team writer keara's casino series returns with its second installment. This time, she talks to some of the leaders of the main leaderboard and compiles their best suggestions for the entire Casino.

Next, editor BONZO looks at what it would take to make Home itself a game. The secret to making Home itself a game is to turn reward collection into the game, rather than just the prize.

We hope you enjoy.

Aloha, HSM readers!

Today's story, from HSM team writer Kassadee Marie, takes another look at SCEA's top-ten sales (by number of units sold) for October; who bought what during the month, and why? Let's have another perspective on what's driving Home consumers.
