I don't get why people complain about this . . . the only people who have a right to be upset by items getting hacked are the people who developed the items. It's great that you and 9 other people earned it, but does somebody else who hacked the item really take away from your experience? I doubt it, unless you're incredibly petty.

The only way I imagine this could bother you is if you only struggled for the top 10 for bragging rights, in which case it would confirm your pettiness.

Enjoy your motorcycle. Know that you were one of the few who truly earned it. Keep that in your mind and remain happy.

I completely disagree. People have a legitimate complaint to make to Sony (deaf ears) and Granzella. Just because you don't believe in it, doesn't invalidate the frustration MANY feel.

We shouldn't attack another group of Home users. But this is a problem that causes alot of frustration and anger. And there should be a fair system where you get what you earned. And item exploits are Not something that you can call the NYPD on, but it is unfair and creates a seriously large amount of angst.

That's what I have the problem with. People can be sad that Sony ignores them. Developers can be sad that people steal their items. Even with that in mind, no user should be sad that somebody got the same item as them through non-legitimate means.

My not agreeing with it doesn't invalidate it, I'll grant you that, but it in and of itself is not a valid complaint. It's something that has absolutely no effect on you. Unless an ISE hacker took your motorcycle, and as such you no longer had one, then it's not a legitimate grievance.

This is how I look at this: Imagine Home was a bunch of children playing in a park. You're sitting there playing with your G.I. Joe, and alot of people are jealous of it. Eventually one of the other kids gets so jealous he decides to steal that G.I. Joe from the store, and now other people are jealous of him as well. The only people who have the right to be upset are the toy store, because they're the only people who were wronged. The kid who first got the toy is only being petty if he's upset.

I repeat, if this bothers you, you're being petty.

I really don't think people are seeing that as the issue. To me it sounds more like people are being cheated from item exclusivity in that the items they worked so hard to achieve are no longer rare when people use unjust means of obtaining them.

That's exactly what I think being petty is. Do you really not see that sort of attitude as childish? If you read most of these posts you would think ISE hackers kicked the top 10's dog or something.

ipwnzj00, so what you are saying is if someone were to Win a #1 leaderboard jacket from the casino that defines that they were the winner, and then the item were to be hacked and all of a sudden, 500 people were walking around with the same jacket, You think that the real winner has no reason to be upset. Yes, a bragging right may be a petty thing to you, but others take them serious. Let's go further, why even have a trophy system on the ps3? Aren't they just bragging rights? What I am saying is, Sony and certain dev teams set up these type of events for people that like to compete for rewards that are exclusive ( and of course to make money which isn't my issue but theirs.) The more that are out there devalues the original. You can use that example in any aspect of life.

Or even better yet, let's just start copying U.S. Currency, it doesn't hurt anyone but our government, Right. People that make counterfeit money are good people, Right? Your ship has holes and is sinking fast

Boonnizzle, that isn't what the problem is. People aren't hacking their scores, if they were I would, again, get why this is a complaint. The people who earned their rewards already have their rewards, and that is where it ends and they should be satisfied. What I'm saying is nobody with a "medal" should be sad that somebody else has a replica of their "medal."

What everyone is trying to say that they feel because they worked so hard at getting to the rewards, those certain ten people should ONLY get them because that was the intent of Granzella. They are upset because hackers are making them feel like all of thier hard work was just for nothing.

If Granzella intended for everyone to have the rewards for free there wouldn't have been an event or leaderboard to begin with.

ipwnzj00, I find it disturbing that you are attempting to paint people who earn something legitimately as childish. Meanwhile, you're defending thievery. Those of us who earned our rewards have earned the right to brag, or not, as we see fit. Those on this board who know me in game know I am proud but not a braggart. There have been many valid reasons posted in this thread how this form of theft is detrimental to Home. Several were listed by me. You are choosing to ignore these reasons in order to either troll or to further your agenda of the acceptance of thievery. I suggest you examine your position a little more carefully.

Ok.

Those of us who have a problem with this are simply saying "Hey, a lot of people spent money and invested quite a bit of time earning these items the way they were intended. Some people are breaking the rules and stealing the items. Please fix it."

Calling people petty really doesn't help with anything except add fuel to the fire...which you have done. I don't usually respond to posts like that, but I don't want to see this topic derail into an argument. Smiley Indifferent

You really got to love people who rationalize theft of any items in Home. Why should you care. Well because some invested tons of time earning them only to see a bunch of losers running around with those rewards who did perfectly nothing isn't cool.

Get a clue. Seriously this type of attitude I simply don't understand. Knowing it's going to happen and condoning what is being done are two different issues.

Well that's a matter of opinion isn't it. You can call it "childish" if you will but I think many others would agree in this case people have been cheated out of bragging rights for working so hard to be in the top 10 for an item advertised as exclusive and rare.

No need to respond btw.. you call it childish, I call it cheated. We're all entitled to our opinions and I by no means intend to discredit yours.
