PlayStation®Home After 3 Years! and A Plan For A Better Future!

60 replies 39 views Edited May 22, 2012

Some of you may already know me or remember me, I have been associated with PlayStation®Home for over 3 years. I left about a year ago and this is my second day back, I must say without bringing up to much of my personal views on PlayStation®Home I am impressed with how it has improved! However after a year of going away and coming back somethings have not changed. there still seems to be a popular party, and the "average" person is left out. I have spoken to several "average" users in PlayStation®Home they say that they are left in the dark when it comes to whats coming up such as: new items, new spaces, new games, etc. I have also asked to speak to a few of PlayStation®Home's offical users, I hope to hear back from them to speak to them about PlayStation®Home. Since this is my second day back in about a year, I am wanting to come back and make a diffrence in PlayStation®Home for the better of the community. I want to be able to inform those who say they're "in the dark" about the status of PlayStation®Home with information that will help keep them involved in the community. This is a really great place for those who want to meet people all over the world, I just think if PlayStation®Home was more of a democracy it would be a more impressive place! I know that all the officals and management of PlayStation®Home want the same thing I want as do many others a informed, and live community! I am not here too point out everything thats wrong with PlayStation®Home I am here too try and improve PlayStation®Home and the great people who are in it! Whether you are brand new and know nothing, or experienced and informational we all can work together to make this a better place! Here is the way in which I belive we ALL can come together it will happen!

The steps are going to be key!

Commuinty Reconstruction Plan

Step 1 - Rebuild, This is going to require patience from the users, and require the mind set of the workers to fix it and fix it to last not fall apart! find the cause of the error messages ad id how to keep them from appearing again. However before the rebuliding process begins there needs to be multiple messages through out PlayStation®Home informing users of the rebuilding to come and give them a estimated date and time as to when it is expected to begin and end.

Step 2 - Advancement, after PlayStation®Home has completed the rebuilding process make sure the community stays stable. I would suggest that there be information boards placed in every space, describing the space and all that it has to offer! I noticed there was something like a information board in the casino. Continue to make the community fun and entertaining, everybody likes to have fun and feel apart of something!

Step 3 - Inform, anytime anything is happening that will effect the users gameplay inform them with multiple messages through out PlayStation®Home like a newspaper, inform people of who, what, or is the biggest topics in PlayStation®Home!

Step 4 - Inforce, in the spaces that are more violent prone is where the Moderators should be most of the time, also if there is a gang or group that is a threat to the community then the proper inforcement should be placed on the Managers of  PlayStation®Home, if Moderators are reciving complaints about a paticular group or gang in  PlayStation®Home then it should be relayed to the Managers to decide the punishment. you can handle one bug, but a infestation is for the exterminator!

Step 5 - Involvement, all Moderators need to be seen in PlayStation®Home, all Managers need to be seen in PlayStation®Home. I know that they rarely make appearences because of so called "favortism" the reason "favortism" is brought up is because the only pictures or images of them is with the higher class of people, Moderators and Managers understand that you are the leader EVERYBODY in this community depends on you all to keep PlayStation®Home fun and enjoyable. Next time your in a space say hey to member of our community take a picture show everybody that, that user is just as important as the higher class user!

I do belive that PlayStation®Home can go above and beyond by living by these 5 steps! I am here to help this community and will do all I can to help it!

Thank you!

I prefer to keep my time and money far away from Home at this point.

Welcome back!  Happy to hear you're willing to help spread the word and make a positive impact in the community.  The best tool we have for helping people find infomation about upcoming releases is the playstation blog's Home section: http://blog.us.playstation.com/tag/playstation-home/

I recommend refering people there!

With all respect, the tactic of refering people to a blog or a diffrent post doesnt work in my opinon you have to understand that these forums is not where the "average" user tends to come you need to be in  PlayStation®Home day in and day out. Im in PlayStation®Home right now discussing with people thier veiws on it!

I appreciate the compliment I really do but you must understand I am not as active on these forums as required for a HCV, If I was a HCV I would want to be in PlayStation®Home more than I am ever on these forums.

With all due respect I beg to differ on that.  I'm not jumping to anyone's defense.  I'm speaking from personal experience.  When I first went on Home back in June 2009 I was about as clueless as any noob.  I don't remember how or who gave me the links but I found out about Home updates on the blog, mall releases and rewards listed at alphazone4 and these forums.  I bookmarked all 3 and referred to them pretty much every day.  What info I found by visiting all 3 sites I passed along to others in Home.  Quite a few times I was asked if I worked for Sony because I would at times go into detail about how to get rewards or what came or what is no longer available.  And this was WAY before I ever became a HCV.

I'm on Home every single day and if anyone asks me about what's new or what is coming out or they want to know how to get a specific reward I type out a link for them to go to and I tell them to be sure to mark it for future reference.  I give them the info they ask for if I know it but whether or not I do, I still type out the link(s).

And it's true that the average user doesn't use these forums but we're trying to change that and get the word out as much as possible.  These forums were a tremendous help to me 3 years ago when I first went on Home and they continue to be a tremendous help.  The average user can't always depend on running into someone nice enough to take the time to answer what questions they may have.  Hopefully they bookmark the links and pay it forward by helping the next noob/average user who comes along.

Exactly the reason we need to spread the word about the blog to the "average" user, as it is the only official source for information about new releases!
