Re: People Lying about Gender on Home

Mar 13, 2012

1. Aasyranth is a robot. Don't believe anything else.

2. I sincerely doubt Home is 90% male. Half of my friends list is women. Maybe I'm just hanging in the right places, but I think there are a lot more women on Home than some users realize.

3. The simple solution to the OP's problem is to never, under any circumstances, give people PSN cards for any reason at all.

There are rare exceptions to this rule, such as--

  • I've known you for a year and it's your birthday. Here's a gift.
  • You went way out of your way to help me with something. Here's a gift.
  • We're planning an event together and I'm showing my support. Here's a PSN card to give away.

I've had people try and pull the "be my BF and give me PSN cards" routine on me. They delete themselves when I don't respond. Remember that the whole reason the scammer is talking to you in the first place is to scam PSN cards, so when that request for a card comes in, respond with, "Sorry, I can't afford that, but I'm happy to hang out."

Hey HearIt, I've known you now, what, a year?  Funny coincidence, today's my birthday.  And, uh, didn't I help you with that, er, what-ya-call-it, last week, you remember, while we were planning, uh, you know, that event next week?    DG

I know that I have a female avatar that I'll bust out from time to time just out of shear boredum...I get hit on (makes me laugh) even though as you can see there is "dude" in my PSN name lolol...I definetly do not ask for PSN cards. But I do go female every now and again.

You cannot post "Thou Shalt Not Steal," "Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery" and "Thou Shall Not Lie" in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians...It creates a hostile work environment. Hmmm...I think I remember you. You're the guy with the faulty redeem code.
