PSN money cards for EU and Hong Kong...

14 replies 568 views Edited Jan 13, 2010

just wondering why cant a US money card load up on the EU or HK server?

yeah it would be really bad for Sony for me to spend more money on 3 of their "Homes" instead of one...

and conversion to the euro or hong kong dollar is NOT the reason.

servers like ebay and paypal have been AUTO-CONVERTING money for 20 years!

this isnt new technology or programming. i would buy one being sold on ebay or something,

but those people are trying to rake in too much profit off of one card. come on Sony, hook up the financial conversion...

eBay and PayPal also deck you with whatever conversion rate they like to use too, even if the current exchange rate is really favorable. It might feel like Sony would be double-dipping if you find their rate at the moment disagreeable. In the meantime, I guess you could buy a PlayStation Network card from another region from a reputable seller. That would take care of exchange rates, possibly in your favour.

Due to the exchange rate, the $20 PSN card that you buy here is of a different value in other in the other region (and countries). Also the code on the card may not work in a different region

It's almost NEVER in your favour if you are American. The dollar has been weak for many years now. So insanely weak.

Because PSN cards are ment to be used in the 'region' you get them in?

So if you get a Japan PSN card, would it work here in the US? No.

The Flying Grayson, Nightwing, Robin, They were about more than fight moves. They were about inspiration, comfort, trust, family. I gave that up to become a spy. a Spider man; A Tsuchigumo. I have changed.
But I'll Always be D. Grayson

It is a good thing the Amero (seen here) will be replacing the US Dollar.  Note that both Canada and Mexico will be owned by the USA in the future....just look at the north american continent and the colors of it on the top right hand corner of the link.  lol

Use Amazon.co.uk. They ship to the US and you can use your US debit/credit card with them.

Safer than buying them from eBay.
