You have to go to the display settings tab unsettings  icon on the xmb. then click video output settings and select hdmi in there and you can setup your audio settings in that too. Once your done make sure that under yourdisplay settings tab that you have:

Cross color reduction filter turned on

RGB full range hdmi set to full

y pb/cb pr/cr superwhite turned to on.

Also there was an update yesterday to 2.60 that retooled the photogallery.

You can't see the screen then hold the power button for five seconds it will make it so you can see the screen again in makes it go to the lowest setting.

if you're still having problems, here's how to do it without seeing the screen (i've had to do this a couple of times),

When you turn your PS3 on, hold left down for a couple of seconds so it will go to the far left on your XMB

then press right once, that way your now on the settings list

then press down for a couple of seconds, that way your at the bottom of the settings list

then press up four times so you'll be at the Display Settings

press X twice

then press down three times

then press right four times

then press X and press finish

after that you'll probably need to set up the Audio Output Settings but you'll be able to do that on your own since you can see the screen now
