Heh, He is right though, we don't have enough military formal wear.
My only gripe with the formal wear is that I think the hat makes me (avi) bald.
But I love sci-fi and hence the imaginative sci-fi miltary armor.. Just not complete enough for me.
I am really loving the Obsidian race build most of all though. I know I know, its Colum A or Colum B. Still going with Commander gear at the moment ^_^

Here's the Captain's Jacket on the left, and the Commander's Uniform on the right:
Commander's uniform. Sci-fi armor somewhat limits the contexts it can be worn in, whereas a military-style uniform has a broader range of applications in Home, which increases the likelihood of other people seeing the outfit and wondering how to get it (thus increasing its effectiveness as a marketing tool). Besides, it's as close as I can get to looking like Lee Adama in Home. This is win.
I like both.
The Captain's jacket is something I wear into battle as it looks like armor.
The Commander's uniform I would wear to a formal occasion or club. It does look sharp. If only I didn't have to shave my head in order to put the cover on...
Though I wear the Captain's jacket more often (as I do more battles than partying), I vote for the Commander's uniform.
I think the best option would be a hybrid. Look at high-ranking officers that deal with combat issues in sci-fi movies/games, and mix those up.
Something along the lines of perhaps, battle armor with uniform colors, bold markings of rank, and yet looking capable of being battle-ready or parade uniforms.
Both work, but it seemed a lil bit of a clash to go from battle armor to uniforms in 1 rank.
