Re: List of Available Arcade Cabinets?

Jan 16, 2012

I knew I forgot a couple.

Those Dragon's Lair and Space Ace cabinets are active items that launch the game if it's in your PS3. Otherwise, they just sit there taking up active item slots. I believe there's a nonfuntional ornament version of one of them.

The cabinets in the demo are pretty easy to get. Just go for the simple challenges and you'll unlock Galaga, Pac-Man, Xevious and Dig-Dug, as well as a Namco stool and the coffee table.

You need to own the full version of the game to get the Dragon Quest and Xevious 2 cabinets. Xevious 2 is awarded for beating all of the other in-game challenges, and Dragon Quest takes quite a bit of skill at that game to unlock. I know one person who has all of them, and I'm very proud of my Dragon Quest cabinet, because that was hard to earn.

So far I have Pac-Man and Galaga from Namco and the Trigger Happy one.

I think Dig Dug is next on my list...

Btw, Alphazone is cool. One of the apps I picked up for my phone, also.

I'm really trying to forget ElectroKid. With much love to Veemee, which usually does a great job, the gameplay does not justify the asking price.

Kinda makes me sad to say that. What's there is a lot of fun, there just isn't enough of it.

I believe I may own them all?

If anyone would like to see any or all, just send me a friend request with subject line request.

Don't forget about the newly released ElektroKid

There are actually 2 Tekken cabs. The first launches Tekken 6 if you have the disc in tray.

The second is just a mock and came with Limited Edition of Tekken Hybrid.

Fast Draw, Dragon's Lair, and Space Ace are also active items..

I have to admit, HearItWow, I thought the same thing, but since I guess I've become something of an arcade cabinet collector.. the purchase had extra value for me. I hope many more are to come, and that they're not only more fun, but NON active items as well.

I think my favorites are the conspiracy cabinets. The games are fun, challenging and the tee-shirt reward is actually pretty cool.

Graphics are among the best of any of the cabinet games I've tried. There are 3 different games that reward the same shirt, but each scrolls that your the champion of that particular game.

Thanks for sharing, Halday

Totally agreed, Halday.

What I'd like to see is more open-ended gameplay, like Trigger Happy in a Box or Cabin Fever. There are some great arcade classics that could be adapted or ported to Home, like Moon Patrol, Scramble, Cobra, Space Invaders...games with a very basic premise that can ratchet up the difficulty as players progress. That's the sort of survival gameplay that kept quarters flowing into arcade machines back in the day.

TankTop 1.0 is probably the best example of that gameplay style that I've seen in a long time. While the graphics make that too big to put in a cabinet, the basic mechanics of the gameplay could fit. Most of those classic arcade games can fit on a floppy disk. I'm sure that's within the memory cap for non-active arcade games in Home.
