Well several people on my friend list were there so I went. First impressions? Serenity is a word that doesn't apply to this space.
Yeah, I don't find it really relating to the word Serenity. The seem to want to bring something back for people who miss the old Central Plaza. And we know SONY won't do anything. So It's nice a dev fills in the hole.
I have some criticisms. But its a nice place.
Or maybe those who had missed the opportunity to see it.
Are you a developer, Carla?
Just curious where your extended knowledge of dev policies comes from.
No I'm not, but i have been in weekly contact with 3rd party & first party dev's for almost 5 years now, plus we have had our own items in Home. So it's safe to say i have seen the process first hand and understand the inter workings of it all.
From SCEA Engagement Summary
· Soft Publish: All content released within Home is Soft Published. SCEA publishes everything approximately 2 week prior to the target launch date of the item. This allows us to properly schedule our weekly updates and adequately promote the content.
Some dev's make use of this to do live testing, others use it for promo of items. As for the space, i know about it because we was asked to inform the community on our site about the delay.
Went to it this morning when I saw one of my friend there. It was a bit laggy at first while I keep dl rewards but worked fine for me. Must say there wasnt many people there and I didn't tried the minibot game.
All around it's a nice showcase place with a CP taste. Never been a CP fan but I understand why some still miss it, somehow I do too. In my opinion what we really miss is a central, connected, plaza. Something the HUB never acheived. If the serenety plaza does have the CP taste, it's still just a showcase, not a central connected Plaza.
Still, great work from Juggernaut! I like it.
Real freedom is the power to say yes.

It's well lighted. It seems to have games to play. The dance floor will be a hit and although it might be from a 3rd party developer it's really wonderful to see them making big and expansive public spaces for everyone.
Sure this space does advertise what they make but it does offer the community a place to hang out and the advertising there is very subdued unlike many of the core spaces which blare buy this or buy that in your face constantly. I so abhor the huge kiosks advertising games that really don't do well for the most part and all the TV screens with digital content for sale.
I can't wait to see what Digital Leisure has in store for us. Personally I'm looking forward to that space quite a bit.
