WOW! I went to check it out, but as usual I was utterly and completely confused. I seemed to launch into some kind of game, which had numerous instructions that I couldn't understand... because I can't read or speak Japanese! Go figure. I pressed buttons wildly.

I am not sure how people who don't speak or read the language function in JP Home. Is there an english-language forum to help? I created a JP Home account months ago, but I never use it because it's pointless without being able to understand what is going on.

Wow that was truly a really long load time. Will we have to load each time and see the Halloween ghost thingie?

No, this was a one time download. though the actual event will also have a huge download time. Downloading starts about half an hour before the show on Friday. Occasionally the download will fail. And you will have to exit Home Square and reEnter.  When the download is finished, you can usually tell you are good to go because japanese events have a timer that countdown somewhere on your screen.

Full lounges slow down the download and if it don't load in time, you are screwed. If the download isn't complete by the show's start time, then it won't show. It fails.

Japan's Home Square doesn't have a minigame. Smiley Happy

I think what you saw was the very long intro to their Halloween event.  The previous year's form a story. A battle between a little ghost and a pumpkin. The intro talks about what happened last year.

As F1REFLY_SEREN1TY said, it's just an intro movie. If you need help in JP Home, give me a shout. I've been doing it long enough to know what's going on and how to do things. If I have any questions, I just ask my friend, she lives in JP..Smiley Happy

LOL! No wonder the buttons didn't seem to be working! It was taking so long I assumed it was some kind of game. At one point I was sure I had shot the ghost, because he got pretty mad.
