Re: I did not pay $6.99 for this BS! (Cutteridge Estate)

Oct 17, 2012

I bought the 6.99 pack not knowing there was an ultimate bundle. It didn't even show up in the juggernaut store tab when I purchased the 6.99 bundle thinking that was the best one Smiley Frustrated Will I have to purchase the $11 bundle now just to get the minigames (not gonna happen but still want to know)? Or will refunds be issued so I can get the $11 one?

So the weather not being there was a mistake then? Ah, that's great to hear! And thank you Jugbot_One for the quick response, it is greatly appreciated! While on the subject, I think I should also mention that if you guys are not aware, there are a few lighting glitches I noticed while in a friend's Cutteridge. Notably in the main dining room table if there are objects placed on it, and in the room adjacent to the kitchen if there is an item of sufficient height in the center. And may I suggest an option to have the secret door next to the staircase open while walking up to it, or by clicking on it?

I bought the space when it came out last year cause i liked the place and the ghost game was great. I paid for the game in that space and now its gone. How is that fair? Now if i want a game i have to pay to play. BS!! I would like some reponse to how they have the right to remove the game that came with fhe space. The sellng point for that space was the ghost game with ur friends. I didnt even get my ghost outfit from that game. I understand the space getting updateed but to take away wat we have paid for. I'M looking into a lawyer and see what can be done.

I understand where you're coming from, though unfortunately "ranting and raving" has been the only way to get things to change on Home for a long time now, since historically asking politely every few weeks hasn't done squat. And yes, I feel there is a need for the "boycott mentality". Why? Because we vote with our wallets on what we want, that's why. And no, the sound system analogy isn't far fetched when you consider that it was a feature that was swapped out for something else, both of which remain parts of a lager whole.

Well, I honestly don't pay enough attention to Home politics to know, but I highly doubt that if a calm approach doesn't work, an angry one will. Nobody will want to please people who do nothing but yell at them. Remember, developers ARE people.

You also picked a small part of what I said. I never said "boycott mentality." If you don't want to purchase from them after this it makes sense given your situation, but I said "Boycott! Witch! Burn them all!" I did that to imply the overreaction. By the way, this is a fresh update and you're giving your suggestions for the first time. If this was a month after the fact and they were ignoring you that's one thing, but they haven't.

A 7 dollar virtual house or a several hundred to thousand dollar sound system, whereas they convert your 7 dollar house or your several thousand dollar car. Silly me for thinking that was a stretch.

Yes, I'm well aware of the fact that developers are people. I expressed that I was angry at the current situation via them making all these changes, and stated that if things were not changed, I wouldn't give them my business. And while you may doubt that an angry approach will get anything done, take a look at the whole sexual harassment issue on here. Open beta launched in 2008, and it was just several months ago that we got the upgraded ignore function that prevented us from seeing emotes from said offenders. All the while asking nicely, practically begging. It only took loads of bad press, and several prominent news articles featuring the problem for anything to be done about it. Pile on many other examples of having suggestions practically ignored, and you can see why myself and others complain in the manner in which we do.

As for quoting you partially, I didn't intend for it to be taken out of context. And no, choosing not to spend money on a company because you potentially got screwed over by them is not an overreaction, it is merely taking a stance against being screwed over further. And yes, it is a fresh update and they have certainly not ignored me, nor others. I commend them for that! But still, a controversial decision like changing something that people paid for in it's current state is bound to create heaps of negative backlash. Rightfully so. Consumers are people too, and they are entitled to express their displeasure. After all, paying consumers are what keep a company afloat.

Also, I'm well aware of the fact that elements of a 7 dollar virtual house do not directly compare to a potentially multithousand dollar sound system in a car. Of course they don't. My analogy was refering to the idea that a feature that you paid for is being exchanged for something else without your permission.

Hi Everyone,

Just to reiterate, for fans of the candle game: we removed this temporarily for some updating, but rest assured all significant features will be back in some ghastly form or another - the free ghost costume rewards will definitely make a return! We wanted to make some changes since after a year many people have still been unable to obtain the ghost costume reward. I understand the change in features has been frustrating for some, possibly more so because many of you have been unable to get a taste of the new content that is available due to the store errors. We are in contact with Sony, and they confirmed that they are working on the problem and hope to have it fixed shortly.

We do not want to take away features that you love, but we did want to do something fun and different for the Halloween season. I hope that when these store issues are resolved people will enjoy the new content as much as we enjoyed making it.

Sorry, but the new changes to Cutteridge are plain unacceptable. The rain and weather (including the nice portrait that controlled it) are completely gone. That single feature made the place for me & many others. And second, there's a giant hidden room open right smack dab in the entryway. And what am I greeted with out front? A freaking ad to buy stuff! How tasteless! Plus, Juggernaut messed with the lighting again! The cliff over looking the lighthouse is now as bright as the inside of the house. How about fixing the shadows from furniture on the second floor appearing on the first floor ceiling? The worst part of all of this is that I am left looking like a fool to several friends that I recently got to buy the place (as it was before) since they all loved it.

Now before you get on my case about the devs being able to "change their own content", or that this is allowed in the TOS (which half the time won't up in court), consider this... Wouldn't you get mighty peeved if you paid for a nice sound system in your car, but then the manufacturer took that out and put in a sunroof instead without your permission? This is a matter of principal. Yes, they're making changes and adding content, which is nice for those that want it. But what they did here is on a whole other level. They not only changed several things, they removed features that are now replaced by games which tell me I need to put out another $6.99 just to play. I'm pretty sure one could call that a bait & switch. Or in legal terms; fraud.

The solution to all of this would be to give those of us that paid for Cutteridge an option in the "Home Spaces" section of our navigator, an option to go to the new version or previous versions of the space. Possibly make said different versions a free download for those that already own it if the former is not allowed within the current Home tech. That way, those that like the changes can have them, & those that want the older version can have that too.

TL;DR: Changing & worse yet, removing content to this degree that we paid for "as is" is wrong, end of story. Either give us the Cutteridge that we paid for, or my friends & I will boycott all Juggernaut Games content from now on.

clear your cache. the rain and other junk should come back.

Using an item that will create rain indoors while taking up a large chunk of furniture slots is hardly an ideal alternative, in my opinion.
