How come there are so many KSA users all of the sudden?

17 replies 3951 views Edited Feb 27, 2011

I don't mean to be offensive or anything but, jeez... there sure are a lot of people on Home from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia lately. For the past 2 weeks now in any area I enter theres at least 2 groups talking in what I assume is Arabic since it looks like "B7R46 MJ1E3 VC8IOP E7TRU" etc... which I think is because my PS3 isn't decoding the language.

Does anybody know what's going on? It just seems like this happened really fast and I feel like I'm on the wrong server.

If you're curious about them I would suggest: 1) introduce yourself; 2) ask where they're from; 3) welcome them to PS Home.

Sadly the PS3 does'nt talk in the arabic language. Smiley Frustrated If you go to the PS Blog Share Section. A lot of people have voted so the PS3 can translate this language.

Some Arab Countries have shut down Facebook and Twitter (if only temporary). It may be possible that at some point people may have found their way onto Home to have another access to immediate communications with one another and found out that Home is an uneffected venue. This is only a guess on my part but could explain any sudden increase in new users from Arab speaking countries.

The Arab governments overlook PS Home?  I guess they never thought of PS Home as a Facebook.

There have always been a lot of KSA users in EU. A lot of them have KSA right in their user name. MsLiZa-KSA, that sort of thing.

Maybe they're just finding their way to North American Home the way that users here have expanded to other regions. It's hard to say if the unrest in the Middle East triggered it.

I haven't really noticed an influx of KSA users,

But that does bring up a lot of interesting points, as far as I know KSA is not under any banns on the Internet, other countries are and maybe the people from KSA are in those countries that have banned the Internet,,,

as far as the language - yeah it looks funny,, there are some English letters not part of the Arabic language so they will substitute those missing letters with numbers that have been taught to them in school while using an English kb..
