Home is actually a sony service, so if any section "rapes" the kudo system it is the off topic section. People could spend a year in the support sections and end up with all of 10 kudos. But go to off topic and make a post about obama care or whatever lindsey lohan is doing and multiply that by 5.

Patchex, I agree with you 100% about home and how money should be used. I gamer too and over the years home haven’t change that much. I was caught in hype of DC Universe online when it came out and I tick off when I learn the servers were region lock and couldn’t play with my friends from different regions. I really don’t mind paying small amount in Micro Transactions if that money in return is put back into gaming like keeping maintain and regular updates. I would love to see home give something back to community who support home but seems Sony more interested in third developers making money and charging them to keep home active. I use run fashion label on second life and I made some good money from it and might go back to it because there very little support on home now days and people on there are more fake then ever.

Can you clarify this? Some people mention this all of the time. Exactly what should Sony give back to the community?

@Conrad_Max

Like being responsible and telling their loyal consumers and supporters what really is going on with home and why they are quiet about this, bottom line is people need answers and they need it now sony should be held accountable I know some will say that people got their moneys worth and they know that its only virtual item they bought but its still real money they paid for it hard earned money. So yeah home should give back to the community who supported it who kept it a float without the community home wouldn't have existed in the first place sony owes the community big time and the community is asking a simple request that sony explain what the future holds for home good or bad atleast they answered.

Re: Home on PS4.

Nov 22, 2013

I realized last night that if Home is dead, someone's really going out of their way to promote it.

Three free PSOne games are available, including Twisted Metal. That's like dangling candy in front of a child. And when everyone logs in to get the free games, which a lot of people will, because free, they're going to see the new Challenges system (more free stuff) and get a free personal space if they get to the PS4 Experience through the Hub.

That News reader is a huge improvement over the old advertising screens, and it hides the load times a bit. Not a fix but a nice cover. And they've got an automatic reconnect running in the background in case you get booted.

So they're using Home to promote the PS4 and promoting the heck out of Home, which has a whole bunch of new features, in the process. This is the biggest update Home has had since The Hub launched, it just didn't have the same fanfare around it.

Does that mean Home's coming to PS4? No, but it makes it look much less likely that Home's going anywhere anytime soon.

Re: Per a Sony Customer Specialist, Home will NOT be on PS4.

Do I find what this client specialist from Sony said to me over the phone comical? Heck yes! I only am posting information that I obtained over the phone when I called Sony.  (EXACTLY!)

The ball is in Tempest's court to confirm/deny this information.  If he or anyone does not believe me, the evidence from the recorded line is over at Sony.  Umhmm Smiley Wink

Whether or not this information is factual, this is what I obtained from Gail over at Sony. If this is correct, then here's everyone's answer. If this is not correct, what miscommunication is going on over at Sony that this supposedly trained employee gave me this?

From MY personal experience, I totally buy the above.  I also know that a CSR certainly can give personal and biased info.

In my case, when I called Sony, it's true, the CSR was not sure but had heard thing from within.  When I mentioned that I was aware of a meeting on this subject, she clearly informed me that they, CSRs at her location, had not yet had that meeting, but that she was aware that management had!

This is why I played upon the emotions that many are feeling and boldly asked her is she would be willing to ask a manager there.  She agreed.  After a few mins she returned and related what her manager stated to her.

She said that the manager confirmed that Sony is not putting PSH on the PS4.  In fact, she used the words WILL NEVER be on PS4.  I asked her if those were her words or the manager's.  She confirmed they were directly from the manager.  The managers are the ones in the meetings, so I put weight into that.

This CSR did not embellish with anything as silly as saying it’s due to bullying.  In fact, she was clear that her and people she work with don't understand why Sony has taken this harsh stand.  She is aware that lots of people use PSH.  I do forget her name.  Sorry about that.

Perhaps as someone posted, "Gail" may have been personally bullied and is using Sony’s support “insider” as a way to retaliate.  Because that kind of statement is not logical.  There ARE tools available to deal with the troublemakers.  Both at server level and at user level (ignore, block).

But here’s a point. Many have now called in and have received similar answersno HOME on PS4.

Like also stated, the calls are recorded and reviewed.  If Sony really had a problem with this info being given out, you can be assured that Sony would put an immediate stop to it and provided a robotic “company approved” statement for the CSRs to use to answer this question.

What I’m hoping for is that if MANY people complain to Sony about this, MAYBE just MAYBE they might change their minds. Much like they just did about the lack of Media Server on PS4.

As for Sony or anyone saying that the “reason” PSH won’t be on PS4 is because PS4 is a gaming machine only, I say a huge BULL PUCKY!!  Like mentioned, if it was not meant to be a social medium, then Facebook, Twitter and others wouldn’t be on it.  Saying it's not a social medium is a total contradiction.

Be sure of this, though. More and more, people are into socializing on the net than every before.  So for Sony to put this kind of limitation and stick to that, will absolutely have very negative effect on their name and bottom line.  I suggest it's a huge step backwards from the direction people are actually taking.

Not everyone is hard-core gamers.  There’s no logic to such a limitation. In fact the opposite is true.  As has been seen with other games, advertising/demoing on HOME has worked out very well.

In fact, think of this.  If PSH has such a low user-base, why would Sony advertise PS4 on PSH?  Sony KNOWS that there are thousands of people on PSH so there’s a good marketing target there.  This makes sense.

But to market a product like PS4 that will limit the very target they are trying to hit in PSH, is a very archaic and backwards marketing methodology.

I reiterate, though.  My conversation with Sony was that PSH will “NEVER” be on PS4.

I’m hoping 2 things here.

1)      Never say never!

2)      I WANT to be wrong

But seriously, I did talk to them and I wouldn’t post BS here at all.  I only post what my personal experience has been.

Therefore, I do invite others who have issue with those of us who have called Sony, to just pick up the phone and call Sony yourselves then PUSH for an answer from a MANAGER, not just the CSR.  Let them, know that lots of other people are getting the answer from Sony’s "paid-for" support personnel and you want the answer too.

If Sony is flooded with people really angry about this, then just might make an educated corporate change-of-mind.

I’ve said it before, if Sony doesn’t change their mind (and they still could), not only am I not buying 2 PS4's  (yes, some of us are not hard core gamers, but do love to relax after work in an environment where we don’t have to think) but I will play on PSH with our 2, PS3's as much as possible in hope that it will bore us to the point where we won’t give a flying #*$&%^…. rhymes with puck.  LOL  Smiley Very Happy

I'm going to be enthusiastic now about my post, Home will be on PS4 Sony will not betray the communities trust, Sony will put home on ps4 they will give to the community what the community wants, they are just ironing out some kinks and in time they will announce a good news to all of us.

Be positive, Nothing is impossible Everything is possible!!! Smiley Happy

Good post thanks. I don't buy the "hard core gamer" argument either. They may have been the target audience when the PS3 was released back in 2007 but the gaming world has changed dramatically since then.

Gaming companies have made billions marketing to casual and older gamers so both groups have proven to be viable and profitable consumer groups.

Although Sony has made many strategic marketing mistakes in the past it's hard to believe that they don't recognize the value of the thousands of casual and older gamers that use Home regularly. Not to mention that both groups actually have a lot of money to spend for the gaming experience they enjoy.

It would be hard to believe that when so many other gaming companies are desperately trying to reach casual and older gamers that Sony would write off thousands of those that are already loyal Sony customers.

But hey, I honestly believe that there's a little old man that has been working in the basement of Sony headquarters in Tokyo for the past 20 years fighting a losing battle against MP3s.

Who knows, they may be ready to give up the casual/older gaming audience without even realizing what they have.
