In addition, I would be willing to bet there will be exclusive items available only to PS4 owners as well, with some time-locked as only available for pperhaps a year or six months. It would be a very smart way for Sony to entice the most ardent of Home supporters to make the jump.

Again I don't see the logic here.  Items in Home that only PS4 users can have or use?  lol, so all PS4 users well not be aloud to invite PS3 users over to there spaces.  Thats a good thing?  You don't see the PS3 users stating a civil war over some dumb idea like this?

The idea here is given PS4 users things in Home that before where not possable on the PS3.  But as I said this is not possable with out deleteing Home and maken a new one.  Right now Home is in SD if you buy a PS4 Home will still be in SD.  You can not chage that its in the program of Home not the console.

What features do you think that they will add to Home when it moves to the PS4?

My Top 5:

Trophy Room (why we don't have this now is beyond me)

  • GOOD!!!  Question!!!  I for one would like to get "The Hall of Fame" but have no idea why Sony as never given it to us.

Playing music and videos from our hard drive in a personal space

  • Another good question.  But this one does have a few problems with video.  What would stop people/users from playing porn?  I know a lot of young kids use Home and think there may be a few problems with this one.
  • But in no way am I saying this can't be done.  What about letting users play videos that they have uploaded to Youtube

Better graphics

  • Don't know if you know this one or not?  But Home use to be in HD when in Closed Beta.  Sony chaged there minds about maken the Open Beta in HD.  no one really knows why.  But load times would be on the top of my list.
  • The New and cooming soon PS4 may have a ton of new bells and whistles to it but there is no way to speed up internet speeds with it.  That would be up to your cable or satellite provider.  I think verizon fios has the fastest internet speeds.

Seemless transition from one space to another. Example Casino, you shouldn't have to load when walking up a few stairs to another game

  • The reason for long load times is Home is to large of a program to have 100% on your hard drive.  So in or inorder to free up some space Sony uses cache.
  • What is Cache?
  • Noun
A collection of items of the same type stored in a hidden or inaccessible place.
  • This frees up room on your HDD once you download a space you no longer have to download it again.  If you stop using a space and start going to new ones it will delete its self again to save room on your HDD.
  • Last but not lest I would like to point out that its not possable to have 100% of home saved on your PS3/4 due to new spaces will always be added.

Ability to delete items from your wardrobe that you no longer want (I don't even want them in Storage)

  • VERRY BAD IDEA!!!  Smiley Mad  I for one hope Sony never does this.  Yes I can understand where your going with this.  But what would stop people from permanently deleting items some of wich you may have paid for with real money?!?  Example:  little brother sister?  EX boy/girl friend?  Someone that just wants pay back!
  • What happens if your PSN/Home gets hacked?  They can wipe out everything you have.

I 100 percent hope you are right on both counts, king. But SCEA has a lot of decisions that have made the Home community scratch their heads.
I never said that either thing I said would be a brilliant decision to make. But I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if one or both happen.
Again, I hope I am 100 percent wrong on both.

I know, but the things you and the OP are talking about are just not possable.  I would somewhat like to see a HOME2.  You know a re-start at the start and hope that the staff don't make the same mistakes they did on Home  (with the hope of maken Home bigger and bette).  But here is the funny part.  They can't!!!  Why not?  Well that has a lot to do with the fact there never been a Home1 right now Home is still in open beta.  The beta is the tricky part seeing how Home is still in beta Sony is telling us it's just a buggy program that does not deserve to be called a Sony program yet.

The truth the way I see it is, Sony has no plans as of right now on putting Home on the PS4.  This is a very smart move Sony is doing.  Why?  Well it gives Sony time to see just how well Home is doing in the market and they can also be vewing the Home trafic.  Right now I think more users are leveing Home then joining up but lets hope I'm wrong.  Also a key note when I say they have no plans that does not mean Sony can't chage there mind latter on.  They just want to see how things are first.  Also please remeber that adding a program like Home onto the PS4 would be the very last thing they would do to the console before shiping them out to the buyers.

No gaming console will ever be hack free or have security so good that you cant crack it, hack it, or jailbreak it. Given enough time and skills, someone will eventually hack the PS4. After all, it took less than a week for them to hack the Wii U, the 360 has been hacked, The EEF and Geohot hacked the PS3, Anonymous hacked PSN. Most cell phones are being jailbroken, left and right these days. PC's are wide open to these concepts as well.

If youre sitting around and waiting for some kind of impenatrable, hack free security for next gen consoles like the PS4...youre gonna be waiting a long time. LOL, even the Feds get hacked from time to time. Hacking, jailbreaking and piracy are all unfortunate side effects we must learn to live with, if we insist on living in a technological and PC ran age.

Thats just the way it is.

I would love the PS4 to have better security and I would love PSN to have better security. But I know that no matter how good it may or may not be...it will never be perfect. And misfortunes may ocour as a result. However, security enhancements are not a deal breaker for me. Im getting a PS4 anyway, regardless.

All we can do is wait untill an official announcement is made, in the near future....and we will know soon enough just exactly what the PS4 will support...and what it wont. But if I had to put $100 on it...I'd say that Home would not only make a full integration to PS4, but it will be greatly enhanced, in terms of resolution, memory and processing power. In essence...Home will have virtually no limitations. Which is something the PS3 is struggling with, right now. ^_^

Sorry but who are you talking to or referring to with all this hacking talk?

Also in your last post you talked about Home being on the PS4 but it would not be the same.  If I'm wrong on any of that please let me know how?  But if that's true and Home is still running on the PS3 how would that work?  This has been talked about and I for one just don't get it.  How can you have one program do two differt things for PS3 users and PS4 users?  Unless I'm wrong about something here the only way what your saying is possable is if there is a new Home program made.

I agree, one thing I would like to see is smoother transitions when moving around.  Example, opening a door without loading screen and walk right into the building.  Being able to travel by vehicles and so forth.

Oh great warrior Syloras from the ancient city Sin Syrillus of the underworld. Grant me the strength of this mighty knight who possess the dead. Verto !

We all agree with that but smoother transition has nothing to do with the PS4 it has to do with programming of Home.

Re: Home on PS4.

I was referring to rramsdell, regarding the security issues with the PS4. Hence my post on security.

And to answer your question:

Home could easily exist on both the PS3 and PS4, simultaenously. In the same way that some MMO's share cross platform compatability between PC's and consoles. They could port Home to the PS4...with a few enhancements, and keep the PS3 version as is. Enhancements being better resolution, faster loading times, more processing power. This is where the PS3 would be restricted, cuz it obviously dont have those abilities. What I am suggesting, does not mean that people would be able to access things PS3 owners cant from a PS4...it just means if you want a better Home, it would make more sense to go with the better console. I doubt Sony is gonna gimp Home on the PS4 just so it can be evenly matched with the PS3. They might even have to take Home down, off the servers for a time while they make the transition. OR, as you said...they would have to completely redesign Home from the ground up specifically for the PS4. How it can be done is debatable all day. But it CAN be done, nevertheless.

And I believe someone else said a few pages back that Home upscales to 1080p depending on your TV settings. Thats not true either. Home is and always has been in 720p, regardless of your TV settings. Doesnt matter if you have a 4K TV with 3D, Home will still be in 720p.
