I think some of it has to do with how advanced the routers are also.... I tried installing firmware that had QoS on it so I could up the priority of PS3 signals over others..... Other settings would help out too in that area.

I think it depends on the connection speed .... a 128 KB/s is goin to have more lag than the 512KB/s .... n the 512KB/s is goin to have more lag than the 1MB/s connection ....
i have a 128 KB/s connection n i have many difficulties n lags in playin games online n downloadin updates/demos/trailers every update takes at least 3 - 3:30 hours to download
