Just out of curiosity... why? Robot Indifferent I thought I had over-invested at the $70 milestone.

This is a "paid leaderboard" game.  Spend more money, get higher on leaderboards. Not unlike the casino.

I do both and enjoy both, but this is a fact =)

edit: some people like to see their name on leaderboards, I know I do.  Also, the casino has a way to allow players to get onto the board w/o spending anything (which is nice), but to get anywhere in the Top 10 overall, you're looking to spend hundreds of dollars.

I get more joy in creating the perfect city, believe it or not, I am still not done with one city, I am trying to recreate Miami, I recently bought another plot of land, and will be working on recreating maybe Cleveland - haven't decided yet. Anyway Tycoon is probably the funnest game on Home right now in my opinion.

But what I question, do some people cheat to keep on top of the leaderboards?

I always wondered about that.

For those that care about completing these objectives without having to break the bank, there are techniques (within the rules of the game) that you could use to help you accomplish those goals.

Start by removing road access from all the commercial buildings (especially those that negatively impact happiness, pollution and crime)  This will allow the housing buildings to fill up quickly with population.  Once these building are full with population, remove road access to them and this will lock in those citizens, regardless of how bad things get.  Now replace road access to the commercial buildings and rake in the revenue.  Once you have built up your revenue enough, remove road access to the commercial buildings again and build another round of housing buildings.

Keep doing this until you have met all your objectives.  The key here is that when you remove road access to buildings, all the stats are removed, EXCEPT for population and employment.  Without road access your population won’t go down, which is the key to generating revenue and completing these objectives.

Once your objectives are complete and you have claimed your rewards, you can return your city to its former glory.

Interesting idea, Julio. Thanks for sharing. I wish that I'd thought of that before demolishing 5 Globosyn Towers.

Clever idea! love it.

Hellfire Games,

So...Yeah...The Tycoon users who supported your game in the beginning by purchasing the 1st VIP package only received a small little gold car companion while this 2nd VIP Package is priced the same, but 2nd VIP Package customers receive a different gold car and an animated gold mayor suit?  This is a perfect example of how a company destroys customer loyalty.  Great Job Hellfire Games...Spank You Very Much.
