Home Currency and Folding@Home

27 replies 6 views Edited Apr 8, 2007
I'm just throwing this out there, but does anyone have any thoughts or comments about getting people to run F@H on the PS3 by converting the number of finished work units into Home currency? This basically incentivizes running F@H because it rewards people with points to spend in PS Home. I think that if Sony did that, they would attract more "folders". F@H has already been a sucess on the PS3, but imagine what we could do if we drew in even more PS3 owners.

Comments?

Interesting I like it.  Maybe if it wasn't for the PSstore and just like extra Home stuff then that would be nice lol...  Then Sony wouldn't have to use the excuse of money loss or whatever...

5 SIXAXIS CONTROLLERS
1 HDTV 52 INCHES
1 5.1 SURROUND SOUND SYSTEM

This is actually a good idea

You could get bonus credits for completing Folding@Home units. I, myself, would find it hard to get credits this way because I have little time to finish the whole folding process.

PS Home currency is real currency - the currency you use to buy stuff on PS store.... so they will not award in that manner
I figure a trophy or an entitlement will be rewards for Folding at home. (hopefully a cool entitlement)

i think this is a good idear. even if u get only 5cents per work unit that still be Significant. it would be a  good move on sony's part.
sony can even work something out with the people who own folding@home n get them to play sony's so that way sony won't be losing money and more people will start folding home. its a win win win for everyoneRobot Happy

This is a great idea, and the one who said they wont because they use real  money, youre the same guy who at parties when you say you want a monkey you will say "NO that is a very bad idea, you don;t want a monkey, and heres why..." your no fun, just let others have their fun.
