For myself my favorite public spaces are:
VeeMees Acorn Park, and
Granzellas Beach (probably Neon would be here as well if it released in NA).
Followed closely by:
Granzellas Southern Island (would be in the top group if the underwater swimming was reenabled!), and
Granzellas Edo Village.
I nearly always visit these spaces, and even if I may have a bit of a break from any of them, it isnt long before I'm back there again, and pretty much every time I visit any of these they are very well populated. But the thing thats common between all of them is that their realistic spaces, which is a big draw for me. I do like fantasy spaces as well, and the Pottermore spaces are beautifully crafted, but unfortunately just dont seem to be having the traffic coming back to them as the ones above do. Rewards obviously do help, but Granzellas Beach doesnt really have any but that still has a lot of people visiting and being drawn back.
In other words, any realistic space is likely to get my attention. A Winter Resort would be lovely, and with the right attention to detail as the ones listed above, I think would continue to draw people back. Something like skiing and sledging, an Apres Ski Bar, maybe gondalas or drag lift as well to ride on to get to the top of a mountain.
Another space I've seen being asked for before and one I would love to see is a theme park, with rides, like Six Flags. Roller Coasters and other thrill rides, as well as a leisurely boat ride to drift along in and to chat to friends in, maybe winding into areas that cant be accessed or seen unless on the boat before coming back into the Park again (I've always wanted to ride the little boats at the Edo Village and see round the corner!).
For items, I would like to see Movie related content. I have a thing for Loots Crackle Movie Posters and just must have them all, but other Movie or TV related content would be nice, either costumes or replica items.
And finally, other items I would like to see are ones that are interactive. The Granzella Beds are a good example, as are Juggernauts Swing and Carousel (particularly the swing which has a nice animation), but others that can include friends could be the next generation of interactive items that could be on the market.
Thankyou for taking the time to ask us, I think we all appreciate it, and its nice seeing more and more Devs lately communicating direct with us. I look forward to seeing what you bring to us
I can't say I like anything I buy. I buy something then hardly use it after awhile.
I do however like the option to gifting others or yourself using tokens.

Well you asked what is our favorite items or spaces in home...the question should have been as new developers "what can we do for you lately?" You want to have a mega hit on your hands be the first to design a typical suburban home personal space.
I would like to present an idea that has the potential to be the biggest money making personal space to date. The Devs in PS3 Home has made some of the best personal spaces in PS 3 Home. However there is one type of personal space that has been overlooked. We all love the fantasy, one of a kind dream come true, personal spaces but how about a typical "suburban home". This type of place would appeal to many(male and females) Done correctly and priced aggressively it will be a #1 seller. I can't tell you how many times I've heard my friends say they wish they had just a nice personal space not too over the top but just right. A place to call "Home" I will enclose a picture of such a home. This home should have all the amenities of a normal functional home. A two story home with at least 3 bedrooms(1 master suite + 2 smaller rooms) Kitchen, bathroom and a family size back yard. 2-3 car garage or a Family/Game room. Pool or no Pool can be an optional item(sell it in a package with maybe trampoline, volleyball, croquette sets) you know typical suburban activities that take place in a back yard. Also you can just leave the back yard plain and we can use our imagination. Please consider this personal space I think it will be a real hit. At the end of the day be it ever so humble there's no place like "Home"
Weapons, guys clothes that dont have spaghetti arms and legs, sexy lady clothes like stockings, not bottoms or feet but legs..
And start using the Accessories and Jewellery buckets more for addon stuff... So frustrating when devs make everything under the most common item slots and these rarely get used... Put stocking or guns in accessories under head or face so we can have more to put on us...
Military stuff.. Police stuff.. SWAT stuff..
A Hummer, SUV, somn BIG!
Weather: rain, snow, clouds, sun
i have to reiterate the point of not having crap items like shirts & spaces that have "come & go" games like the southern island hideaway that you can only play once a day or have to pay to play more than once. all things like that say to me are that you're not really developing for our enjoyment/entertainment but to fatten your wallets by doing an easy job of using a toolkit & windows so you don't have to do actual work like the rest of us. make things we're actually going to want & use, too many developers are seeing the ease in making gimmicks & tricking people into buying them. EA is a repeat offender in this and it's why they have been named worst company in the world even beating out BP after the gulf oil spill that was one of the biggest natural disasters in recent history that has cost lives & billions of dollars.
to put it simply, listen to your consumers & do things they want. since you being a starting Home developer you won't make it far not supporting your product & listening to your consumers. your studio owner may be rich enough to finance your foray into Home development but they won't keep paying your paycheck if nobody buys your product.
look around the forums for a few days, read multiple threads about complaints & actual excitement about things, don't look at a post from someone with 5000 posts & 800 views that does nothing but praise everything except the day they want it. look to the actual users who are not buying into these things that they'll never use or go to. so many people don't agree with these super posters & there's more people who don't speak up than people that do. again look to complaints more than praise, this will give you alot clearer understanding of why people don't buy things or use them than people going 'yay a barbecue grill' that they'll look at for 2 weeks & never bother with again.
If the prices are reflecting that now then theres a lot less kids and more working ppl on Home..
Be an honest dev most important and communicate..
