I do not think its any different than what kids see on television today... Its what society has accepted as the norm...
I was wondering. When it comes to Home, it's kinda hard to speculate exactly what demographic and audience the platform is being directed to. The Home Team Staff has said before, that theyre striving to make Playstation Home a more family-friendly atmosphere. What does that mean, exactly? o_O
When you look at some of the things offered in Home, one can see how that statement seems contradictory in its meaning.
For example: We have bars, (alcohol themes) casinos, (gambling themes) short shorts, bras, panties, corsetts, skimpy dresses, etc (some of which comes boderline to lingerie) Adult themes in all 3 Midway spaces ie; Blue balla, Whack off, Ball Squeezer, Marla's Den-o-pain (an actual dominatrix in Home, LOL) X7 can basically be compared to a cheap dance/stripper club when you notice the sleezy dressed female NPC dancers, not to mention theres a half naked male and female NPC in the hot tubs there. Weird Wear has all sorts of clothing for cross dressers (as if we dont have enough of those on Home) The red Brimstone dancer pretty much IS for all intensive purposes, what i consider to be an actual stripper in red lingerie. And i could go on, and on...
My point is...NONE of the above seems like ANYTHING that the typical "June Cleaver" family would consider acceptable in their households, let alone for their children as entertainment. So how exactly does the Home Team Staff define "family friendly"?
Why not add a pack of virtual cigarettes to buy for your avatar, along with a "smoke" emote that would show your avatar smoking? Or a can of beer for your avatar to drink? Why not make the many weapons in Home fully functional, so you can stab someone with a sword or shoot someone with a gun? Why not add a "pregnant outfit" for female avatars, so you can look like youre carrying a baby? Why not add virtual babies, that you can raise and take care of? They could be considered as companions, lol. You could even buy strollers, baby cribs and even those rediculous baby sling harnesses for your avatar to wear, lol. If Granzella allows us to get married at a chapel, why cant we get divorced in a courthouse? We already have gangs (pardon me...FAMS) on Home, why not add red and blue bandanas that we can buy? Im just sayin....
Either make Home PG13 so you can TRULLY back up your claim to it being "family friendly" or Make it MA17 so we can enjoy everything on a "mature" level. But dont try to mix both elements and sugar coat it by calling it "family fun".
Just my random thoughts for the day... LOL
I think there are more kids on ps home, but more adult talk goes on and themes... like you said
i think home is for all ages they mean.
What is a man? (Just look above)... "The ultimate measures of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy".
There is NOTHING in Home that is not regularly displayed on broadcast TV, most magazines, advertising flyers and billboards, and ALL PG 13 movies. I do not believe Home portrays anything which most children have not seen by age 5 in our current society. June Cleaver was the 1950's This is now 2012. Europe and much of the world is far less censored than here. If one feels Home is inappropriate for their household, USE the parental controls.
This topic arises about once a month, but my impressions from the Forum comments is that the OP opinion is not well supported.
My question is-- why did this old thread/topic get bumped by the previous post ??
