Do you want to appear Offline while using Home?

70 replies 13331 views Edited Aug 19, 2011

A new secret was just discovered. It allows you to log into psn and appear to be offline. I know alot of people use alternate accounts to hide from their friend list. But it looks like there is a way to be able to be on psn, and be undetected from your friends. I kinda like the idea. Why not appear offline like gmail? Here are a couple youtube vids I found recently.

Step by step:

1. In your Comment, click on the grid ( if your already in small keyboard, skip this step)

2. Click on the wrench down bellow

3. Click on Single Tap ( if it doesn't show Single Tap, that means already have single tap on)

4. Type 3 Dots with SPACE ( Dot Triangle Dot Triangle Dot ) (. . .)

5. Press the Start button TWICE, this will eliminate the one space ( it should look this . ..)

6. Sign Out

7. Sign back In

That is all.

0. Erase your dots to be seen by others. You can't go back unless erase them, even you turn off your system and go back online.

Thanks to my friend lve_msg.

If you have friends on your friends list that annoy you this much and you want to hide from them.... Why are they on your friends list in the first place ?

Cool trick, but i don't think Sony wants you exposing flaws in their system on these forums.  I guess we will see soon enough.

I don't know. I wont even use this. But some home campers will. It is a good feature. It has been requested many times.

Very nice. This should actually be an option in my opinion. I don't think anyone wants to hide from friends all the time or they wouldn't be friends. However, I personally would love to be able to do some things alone sometimes and not seem rude or like im ignoring someone...

In some cases it may not be a matter of "hiding", it may be just an instance of where the person just may want time for THEMSELF and putting "not available" by your name may not be enough, and I agree with Elway358, this SHOULD be an option for your list.
