Canada is just as technologically advanced as the U.S, if not more so due to more privilaged trading rights. Also our housing and general society are probably more economicly distributed and have higher quality. So to call Canada "Foreign" is just silly being it's right next to the U.S and in the same continent. I have to say though, this is a rather low move Digital liesure has done.

I wasn't making any sort of comparative statement about Canada vs. the U.S. by any means. I love Canada and its people.

As far as being "silly" for calling Canada foreign.....here is a basic definition of the word:

for·eign

adjective

of, pertaining to, or derived from another country or nation; not native.

In terms of my original statement, I am simply saying that many Home developers in NA are not domestic and they are capitalizing on American consumer dollars in every way they can. Whether or not some people feel the tactics used by these developers are shameless and relentless is of no consequence to them when they see their bottom line each day.

I think we are all looking at this the wrong way.. Think about this for a second.. How many times have you just started a poker game, have a pair of aces in your hand, and some noob goes all in on a jack, 10, and then wins. You out in the first round. The noob didn't care either way, they was still going to win chips. But now, by making it to where only 3rd and above win chips, I bet that these noobs will be a little more careful going all in, and you won't see alot of first round all in moves. So, I do agree with DL in this move, but I also agree with yall in that they should have put the winnings of 4th and 5th into 3rd and above.

...or reduce the buy-in to balance things out.

I always seem to lose when I get the nerve to call these types of bettors, even when the odds are clearly in my favour.  The tables seem to give out those against-the-odds straights or flushes on the river all too often.  I hate that.

Or maybe be more careful when playing?

This move may make people better Hold'Em players. More careful and thoughtful.

With all of the games in the Paradise Springs Casino, I don't have to spend a whole lot of money. Most of my game earnings help to support another Casino game. And when I do buy chips, it's never painful.

The way you play the game is the way you live your life.

I think that a lot of Americans just get suspicious when a 'foreign' developer tries to bring us some great entertainment like the casino, or give us a free bridge. Watch this clip.

Does this really come as any surprise?

Digital Leisure have been profiting from their rigged table games for the past year. They refuse to respond to any of the posts pointing out inconsistencies in their games.

Poker was already "competitive." They'd rather feed their customer base marketing BS than the truth. This decision is obviously a reaction to the players exploiting poker in the VIP area. Instead of patching the game to prevent it, they punish everyone by upping the vig.

I guess this also counts as the infamous table in the poker room that doesn't work anymore and you can't use it.  Doubt they will ever fix that, but whatever.

I've been buying software published by Digital Leisure since 1998. I own most of their LaserDisc ports. I've purchased Dragon's Lair five times.

I've also won (and lost) a lot of money at casinos over the years. If Paradise Springs were a real casino, it would have been shut down by the local gaming commission. Digital Leisure refuses to respond to posts about the broken probability of their games. When there are problems like the recent VIP poker buddies, their solution is to punish everyone then claim they're making the game "more competitive." If that were true, DL would have adjusted the payouts for first, second, and third. Instead of updating and improving their existing games, they simply roll out some flashy new toy every six weeks.

Digital Leisure has lost me as a customer, and I encourage other people to stop buying their products.

Lol. You do realize you're talking about a bad version of online poker??

This change won't affect the way people play.

Let me see from DL's past tweets

@mbyte6969 We're sorry you don't approve of the new payouts but they are still the same for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. We just removed 4th, 5th, 6th
