Re: Board games? Poker in HOME?

Jun 5, 2007
People pay good money to have Texas Hold 'em, Blackjack, (name almost any casino game here), Monopoly, etc. on their computers, cell phones, hand held devices... almost NONe of them use real money.  Just because you have a game that uses money as it's 'point' system, it doesn't mean you have to have real money rewards.

or losses:
"Honey, I remortgaged the house because I landed on Boardwalk.  It had a hotel on it.  Twothousand dollars!"
it just doesn't happen like that.

One of the best parts about these games (especially Texas Hold'em) is I CAN go all in for $200,000 with a pair of 2's if I want to.  The worst thing that happens is I lose the hand.  Restart.  New game.

Sheesh, these are video games.  Gambleholics will go to the casino if they want to use real money.  We know it won't happen in Home like this.  I would play with fake money.

When I play GTAIV, I won't go out and REALLY steal peoples cars, nor will I throw grenades at the FBI.  Most likely, I WILL NOT go to an Army base and steal a helicopter and shoot missiles at criminals, though it DOES sound like fun....

That's why I do it in a VIDEO GAME

PS.  The PS3 is GREAT for video games.  In case no one noticed.

like default wrote. IT probably won't happen. Although it would be a good idea. Sony would still have to find out a very very effective way to keep minors out of the games. Which would be hard to do esspeicially if your Credits on ur PSN account were being used. Sony could aslo be seeing lawsuits to.

Dude, with all the credit cards and PlayStation Cards being added to people's PSN accounts, I think we will be seeing REAL money Texas Hold Em' Tables. I'd play, I don't know bout everyone else. You can chose to put your money into our PSN account or to your address on your account. But, of course, Sony would take a percentage of the winnings, like every online poker website. I'd be totally awesome. I'd have to set a 5-15 dollar limit though.

Won't happen!

Ehh, can't a guy dream?

Yes, I believe a guy can dream.  Texas Hold'em in HOME would be great.  Someone mentioned earlier that it would be too addictive, even with fake money.  So why did they sell me MotorStorm?  I'm totally addicted.  Is there a motorstormanonymous?

Did you know that meetings held for internetaholics are held ONLINE?  True.

If there's a Casino, I'm thinking of doing an Oceans Eleven type mission... Who's with me?

AgentAnderson.... I like the online collectible card idea.  That would be nice.  I think any kind of collectible items on Home or PSN would be pretty cool, but none more than cards... I hope people within Sony read these boards because that is a good idea.

All the ideas in tread are nice.  I would definite be interested in being able to play any board or card games within Home or simply in a game on PSN.

I think The Eye of Judgement is gonna be a Sony collectable card game.  From the description I read, players will use physical cards that are scanned by an EyeToy and a 3D image of the monsters/spells are projected on your TV.

I know what you mean - a game where you can trade virtual cards in Home would be a cool idea.

Yeah I was just reading about this game.  Sounds pretty cool.  Nice use of the Eye.

There was the card game on PSP a while back, maybe we'll see something like it.  I think it should be a simple deal to implement.  Digital football card... I would love it.  How about  digital comic books.

Hey, someone like Gamepro can get a portal and sell digital magazines.  I don't know... What you all think?

If they had Texas Hold Em for Ps3 it would seriously be one of the most kick ass things ever

I mean I always dont feel like goin around shooting people, slashing vampires, or blowing up tanks.  Would be cool to have a cool relazing game like Hold em

Poker would be sweet. But I think you should change the title of this thread to BORED GAMES.

Poker would be sweet, but if young people were playing, it would qualify as underage gambling, so im afraid it will probably be a no

other board games would be great, just nothing long like monopoly...
