A Poker Players Wishlist For The Casino

Things to make DL Casino Poker better for everyone

Give each room (Regular, VIP and HRL) their own leader board. Gives people a reason to play in at the room of their choice with bragging rights for each and would increase participation in the vacant VIP room.  People possibly would/could end up buying more chips if they thought they had a chance for making the leader board in the room they preferred to play in.

Change payouts in all rooms to 4 players.

Have different rewards for each room and change them each season for making the leaderboard. Give top 3 jackets every season with different colors for each room.

And an option to fold/muck hand would be nice

.

Regular Poker

Buy-in: 500

Starting Chips: 5000

Blinds: keep regular poker room as it is for those that want quick games

Payout: Based on 500 buy-in. Total chips up for winnings 3,000

1st-1700 2nd-800 3rd-400 4th-100 5th-0 6th-0

VIP Poker

Buy-in: 2,500

Starting Chips: 7,000

Blinds: have blinds start at 25/50 with blind raises every 4 hands

Payout: Based on 2,500 chip buy-in. Total chips up for winnings 15,000

1st-8,500 2nd-4,000 3rd-2,000 4th-500 5th-0 6th-0

High Rollers Lounge

Poker Buy-in: 10,000

Starting Chips: 10,000

Blinds: have blinds start at 10/20 or 25/50 with blind raises every 6 hands

Payout: Based on 10,000 chip buy-in. Total chips up for winnings 60,000

1st-35,000 2nd-15,000 3rd-8,000 4th-2,000 5th-0 6th-0

Tournaments:

Tournament play needs to have first day holdings and winnings separated. Give top 3 at each table more chips to add to their holdings to keep players in games so full tables can be made late in day one play. First getting 500, second getting 400 and third getting 300. This would keep things moving but still make it so one would have to play smart once their holdings started to deplete. Random all-inners should not get rewarded with more than one game worth of holdings just because they get lucky. Blinds raises should be slowed a little so blinds do not force play so quickly and allow for a player to play rather than be forced to play bad hands because the blinds go up so quickly. If starting play in the dealer position as it is one is at 400 big blind after the dealer button has made one round around the table and 3200 after the dealer button has made two rounds if all 6 are still at the table on the first day of the tournament. The way it is a player that has been dealt bad cards and folded and played smart is forced into play no matter what cards they hold making it more of a game of luck rather than skill. Smart good players should not have the game forced on them so quickly because of the blinds. In a tournament setting playing smart should have more bearing on the outcome rather than forced play and getting lucky does.

Buy-in: To be determined

Day one: Open play format: 6-8 hours of play

Starting Bankroll:3000

Buy-in per game: 500

Starting Chips for each Game: 5000

Blinds: have blinds start at 50/100 with blind raises every 4 hands

Payouts:

1st-500 2nd-400 3rd-300 4th-0 5th-0 6th-0

Top 36 in chip earnings move on to Day 2

Day 2:

Semi-Finals: Shotgun Style Tournament

Starting Table Chips: 10,000

Blinds: Have blinds start at 50/100 with blind raises every 4 hands.

Winner of each table moves on to Finals

Finals:

Starting Chips: 10,000

Blinds: Have blinds start at 25/50 with blind raises every 6 hands.

Payouts:

1st-250,000 2nd-100,000 3rd-50,000 4th-30,000 5th-20,000 6th-10,000

Very good suggestions Oldtimer. Let's hope DL reads this and follow it, because something needs to be done about the poker.

Sounds good! The payouts would have to be a little different for the rooms to include the house cut. Also I don't agree with the payouts for the tournaments that youve suggested but I would like to see them more evenly distributed with 3rd breaking even at least.

This seems more reasonable to me.

Never could understand why the house would have to take a cut in the poker rooms. They already get paid when one purchases chips. As far as payouts go I set them up so that finishing 4th gets one a buy in to the next lower room and 3rd getting roughly 80% of the buyin for the game. The payouts should be as much an incentive as the are a reward. Not sure what you mean by breaking even in the tournaments. The payouts I set for them allow one to play 1 game in the HRL for finishing 6th, 2 games for 5th and 3 games for 3rd with 4th getting 50k and 2nd getting 100k and 1st getting 250k. This layout should put pressure on one to try and make it to the next level of payout instead of just settling.
