It always has cost. December was a freebie as a Christmas present.

The above comment is my opinion, unless I state a fact. You can disagree with my opinion, but facts are facts.

Yup its always cost that much despite the December one.

I was in the Beta for those tournaments, and despite the cost I will still enter from time to time, but admittedly not in a little while. The chip payout isnt too bad if you do well from what I remember and of course you have a shot at some of the rarest Home rewards out there if you come in numero uno ^_^

The reason for this is quite simple. It helps to discourage people who would play the first round, and then either just sit through the next rounds or not show up at all. Some people are less willing to screw a game (and their fellow competitors) if they have to lay out some real money.

Participation, the fun, reward and prestige make it worth the value. If we don't think it's worth it, as with anything else in Home, simply don't pay to purchase or participate.

Playing the tournament is totally voluntary.

The way you play the game is the way you live your life.

No. That was a beta test. December was a present.

You gotta spend real money for the chance at winning pretend money so you can lose it all forcing you to spend more real money on more pretend money.

Makes total sense.

No.

Participants spend real money in order to play a game they enjoy, compete with others and hopefully win. Generally, the winner will win something equal (or valued more) than the money spent to participate. Besides, they are all paying for entertainment and fun.

Just like we do with movies, books, sex, drugs, alcohol, carnival rides and any number of fleeting pleasures. The cost doesn't matter.

What matters is what the individual gets out of it no matter what anyone else thinks.

The way you play the game is the way you live your life.
