12 replies 1326 views Edited May 13, 2013

i already have a travel case so i dont need that, i also dont want a silicone or grips, i would like a case that you can play ps vita while the case is on, it needs to be able to be dropped.

check out the "PS Vita Must Haves (the BEST accessories to own?)" video on youtube

I own the second one he showed on the internet the only difference is the second one doesn't have the pouch inside....its great for protection and carrying extra stuff....In in I carry my vita...games....memory cards....a stylus touch pen....my ipod charging cable...my android phone charging cable...my skull candy headphones and my vita charging cable

Edit: direct video link removed due to language

I got this one. http://www.walmart.com/ip/RDS-PlayStation-Vita-Carry-Case-Deluxe-Black-PS-Vita-PlayStation-Vita/1985...

Mine and jon's seem to be the best overall cases for the vita. The one I got holds a lot more games but doesn't offer quite the same protection, as it isn't a hard shell case. But I find it to be protective enough. I don't really understand why you need to be able to play the vita while it's in the case. Are you going to drop it while you are playing it? Also you can't access the L, R, and power buttons while it's in the case.

I got the right case for you.

Watch this:

The generic "PSVITA Metal Case" can be purchased off eBay by typing in "PSVITA Metal" on the search box.

I've used the first one (it was a silver) for one year and it has protected the Vita against five drops, most off them off my desk, maxiumum drop height was off my drawers (4ft).

One drop was even against a corner, right where the camera is. But as you can see in the video there is a "roll cage" on the rear camera that broke instead, protecting the back camera.

As a testament to it, you can see the old case broken in many places yet the Vita didn't have a scratch or crack on it.

A wrist strap would help. I have a strap on mine and it has definitely prevented more drops than I can count.

Generic doesn't necessarily mean "bad." In fact, Monoprice and some other manufacturers just take this case, slap their own labels on it and charge twice as much.
