upload music and photos

Does anyone know how to upload music and photos to the PS3 from a thumb drive or from a home network? I know it can be done im just not sure how?? please help.

Not a PS Home issue, but if your thumb drive is plugged in the PS3 should list it as a device in the appropriate category. Just open it and copy. With a shared network device, the PS3 sees it the same way, but it depends on the settings of the other device. I just use a thumb drive.

The easiest method I know of is this:

 

  1. Insert your USB drive and make sure the PS3 can recognize it first - formatting may be required 
  2. Create a file on your USB drive named "PS3" (all CAPS without the quotation marks)
  3. Create subfiles named "PHOTO" & "MUSIC"
  4. Dump the files you want to transfer into those folders
  5. Plug in to your PS3 and navigate to the appropriate section of the XMB and being copying your files over

Should be as simple as that.
