I've a ps3 with an internal hdd of 80GB and now the capacity is full. I want to replace (or upgrade) the hdd of 80gb by one of 320gb.
But i've some questions about it:
- what type of hdd should I choose? 2.5"?
- which sata? 1 or 2 or 3? Or 3gb/s or 6gb/s (I don't know if this is the same as sata 1 or 2 or 3)
I've mostly heard ps3 only reads sata1, but does it also works with 2 or 3?
- the dimensions of the new hdd, or does just the height matters ?
- how much rpm ?
- is 320gb enough or should it be one of more capacity?

I purchased the Western Digital Scorpio Black WD5000BEKT 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 2.5" Internal Notebook Hard Drive from newegg.com for my CECH-2001A. I have not had much issues with it. However I bought this when PS+ started and now after downloading all the games as well as a few I purchased in that time, I no longer have much room left and have to delete games for new titles added to the IGC.
