I'm thinking about getting the sony pulse elite headset to use with the ps3 and ps4 later on when its released. Just looking for some opinions on other possible headsets and current owners of the pulse headset and their experiences. So what do you guys think.

No regrets... one of the best gaming investments I ever made. They are awesome. The only negative thing is that they need a usb bluetooth amplifier/ distributor to be inserted so that it works.

Other than that, great sound, vibration..... perfection.

I am also thinking of getting these headphones. Do they actually vibrate?

Yes. Bass Impact vibrates helps gaming feel more cinematic, plus Bass Impact is optional and can be turned off.

Wow, my PS shopping list continues to grow! I have the other PS3 wireless headphones. (I forget the name of them); the ones that came out first. They work very well but the pulse sounds like they are much better. Thanks for the info!

I would honestly get something else. An entry level pair of stereo headphones with a good sound stage will sound much better than Sonys faux 7.1.

Cheapest way to go are audio headphones and buy a mic seperate. For $50 on Amazon, the Samson SR850's won't do you wrong although there are many options in various price ranges.

To connect, you will need either the Astro Mixamp which I use for $130 or for stereo, you could get an adaptor called the Headset Buddy for $20. http://www.headsetbuddy.com/playstation-3-usb-headset-adapter-pc-headset-to-ps3-adapter/?gclid=CLLhy...

Finally, buy a Zalman mic for chat.

This stuff may sound like a hassle but is well worth it. And while I did give you some cheaper options, I do recommend the Astro Mixamp for the best sound. It also allows you to plug in your phone or MP3 player to listen to your own music while playing.
